Biden’s Chaos Reigns, Taliban Cofounder Returns, Taliban Blocks Access to Kabul Airport

Day four and sadly more of the same. The situation on the ground in Afghanistan for Americans continues to grow worse. Please give the cnn news clip below at least half a chance. You may find the commentator’s voice titillating even if you gain nothing else of value.

Earlier this week, the triumphant Taliban was boasting about their newfound respect for free speech, women’s rights, etc.–all within the boundaries of Sharia law–naturally. This from pjmedia.com.

According to Reuters, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Afghan militant who was co-founder of the Taliban in Afghanistan, has returned and may assume a leadership role in the new Taliban government.

Baradar, who’s honorific name means ‘brother’ was co-founder of the Taliban with the leader and his benefactor, Mullah Mohammed Omar the one-eyed cleric, in the early 1990s.

Baradar went into hiding in 2001 and was arrested in Pakistan in 2010. He was held in custody until pressure from the United States had him freed in 2018 and he relocated to Qatar.

He was flown into Kabul on a Qatari C-17 Globemaster heavy-lift transport jet, reportedly on Tuesday.

As cnn put it all-too delicately, Baradar’s return “doesn’t bode well for Afghans hoping to avoid a return to brutal Islamist law.”

Indeed.

The location of the video was verified by Reuters comparing terrain data to the surrounding area. Flight tracking data also showed a Qatari C17 Globemaster plane matching the registration mark of the plane seen in the video flying in the vicinity of Kandahar Airport.

Oddly enough, Baradar had tried to surrender Taliban forces to the U.S.-led coalition all the way back in 2001. The offer was rejected, and Baradar has been in prison or exile since.

His role in the new Taliban government is unclear, but in the scrum that is Afghanistan, particularly at the present time, very little is clear–except for how Biden’s cognitive deficiency as well as the catastrophic miscalculation of his military staff led to it all.
