According to Nancy Pelosi, the mild protests at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 was a “violent armed insurrection” by white nationalist Trump supporters trying to overturn the 2020 election results and destroy democracy. According to the FBI and everyone who has been paying attention, January 6 was just a bunch of ragtag knuckleheads with no plans to overturn or destroy anything.
Here’s a story from Reuters that might force AOC to change her story that she was almost raped and killed on January 6:
The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.
Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.
“Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases. Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages,” said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation.
But what about that 5% of militia groups? Certainly they planned to overthrow democracy and stuff, right? Not so much:
FBI investigators did find that cells of protesters, including followers of the far-right Oath Keepers and Proud Boys groups, had aimed to break into the Capitol. But they found no evidence that the groups had serious plans about what to do if they made it inside, the sources said.
That would explain why so far prosecutors have only convicted grandmas and registered democrats for silly crimes like “illegal parading”. In fact, the Reuters piece notes the complete lack of major charges:
But so far prosecutors have steered clear of more serious, politically-loaded charges that the sources said had been initially discussed by prosecutors, such as seditious conspiracy or racketeering.
And ain’t nobody been charged with insurrection or attempted homicide on a democracy which would seem to eliminate the “insurrection” part of Pelosi’s narrative. That’s on top of the complete lack of weapons or murder charges that have destroyed the “armed” and “deadly” portions of her bullshit.
Speaking of bullshit:
The FBI’s assessment could prove relevant for a congressional investigation that also aims to determine how that day’s events were organized and by whom.
Senior lawmakers have been briefed in detail on the results of the FBI’s investigation so far and find them credible, a Democratic congressional source said.
Democrats in Congress have been briefed on the FBI’s findings that there was no coordinated attack to overturn the election and they found them credible? And they’re still going ahead with their garbage select committee witch hunt? Democrats aren’t ones for letting facts get in the way of a good lie.
Democrats impeached Donald Trump for inciting this non-insurrection insurrection because he told a crowd of supporters to “go in peace” so chances are they aren’t going to let an FBI investigation that goes against their false beliefs stop them from perpetuating this crap.
Trump didn’t incite an insurrection. No cops were killed by protesters. Nobody was armed and nobody planned to kidnap, rape, or kill any Congress members. There was no coordinated plan by Trump supporters or white supremacists to do anything. Nobody tried to overturn the election results. Nobody tried to destroy our democracy.
January 6 was a big fat nothing burger.
