Rescue dogs shot dead by NSW council due to COVID-19 restrictions

Several impounded dogs due to be rescued by a shelter have instead been shot dead by a rural council in NSW under its interpretation of COVID-19 restrictions, alarming animal activists and prompting a government probe.

Bourke Shire Council, in the state’s north-west, killed the dogs to prevent volunteers at a Cobar-based animal shelter from travelling to pick up the animals last week, according to council’s watchdog, the Office of Local Government.

“OLG has been informed that the council decided to take this course of action to protect its employees and community, including vulnerable Aboriginal populations, from the risk of COVID-19 transmission,” a spokesman from the government agency said.

The spokesman said the agency was examining the circumstances of the incident to find out whether companion animal and cruelty prevention laws had been broken.

The Herald attempted to contact the council administration multiple times, but received no response, and a member of Rural Outback Respite/Rescue – the shelter that was supposed to receive the dogs – declined to comment.

A source who is familiar with the arrangement said the shelter volunteers are distressed and had COVID-safe measures in place to handle the dogs, one of which was a new mother. MORE.

The events surrounding COVID mitigation in Australia and New Zealand continue to astound me. The last several days in several provinces have shown brutal conduct and physical attacks by police, riot units and military deployments against the citizens within their respective regions.

All of this activity is because citizens are demanding an end to the futile lockdowns that have gone well beyond reasonable efforts to mitigate COVID. The various state governments within Australia are attempting to get rid of a virus by isolating the people in the most extreme ways possible; and when the citizens protest, they are met with batons, rubber bullets, pepper spray and some of the most brutal beatings you could imagine.

Thousands of citizens have been arrested, jailed and fined as the government shows a total disconnect from the reality of the virus. Beating citizens brutally in the streets in the name of public health? Factually and literally absurd.

Last week New Zealand locked down the entire country over one case of COVID. 48 hours into the mandated four day lockdown and they had 21 new cases, so they extended the ‘stage 4’ lockdown another four days. In Australia you are not permitted to travel between cities at all and there are checkpoints set up to catch people.

An animal rescue shelter in New South Wales shot all their dogs dead, literally killed them, simply because they were fearful another animal rescue team from out of the area would travel to save the animals. So they killed them all? A “rescue shelter”, the absurd irony is jaw-dropping.

Long-haul truck drivers are not permitted to stop and eat, or shower, or rest outside their vehicles by orders of the government. That type of public policy is just insane. How are essential foods and medicines expected to get distributed if truck drivers cannot safely operate? Is there not one high profile national political figure who will stand and call attention to the abject insanity of what they are doing?

Making matters worse, it seems like the entire institutional media in both New Zealand and Australia are supporting the totalitarian effort of the government to fight against the citizens. The propaganda of fear is stunning.

Common sense has been totally thrown out the window, as people are forbidden from leaving their homes, talking to neighbors or even passing people in the streets. They have been locked-down for months, as the government fist around their neck gets tighter and tighter in this dystopian proclamation that what they are doing is for the common good of society. Mississippi COVID-19 patients who refuse to self-isolate could face fines, jail time

The state health officer for Mississippi issued a COVID-19 isolation order on Friday, telling people that if they test positive for COVID-19 and refuse to self-isolate, they could face fines or possible jail time.

In his isolation order, Mississippi State Health Officer Thomas Dobbs said that people have to isolate themselves at home once they become aware that they are infected. People are expected to remain home for 10 days after becoming ill or testing positive for COVID-19, regardless of whether they are fully vaccinated.

“A negative test for COVID-19 is not required to end isolation at the end of 10 days, but you must be fever free for at least 24 hours with improvement of other symptoms,” the order said.

The order stated that refusal to obey could include several fines or punishments. Someone who refuses to obey the order of a health official could receive a $500 fine, up to six months in jail or both. However, when a life-threatening disease is involved, the refusal to obey the order could include up to $5,000 in fines, five years of jail time or both.

Mississippi has started to see its third, and highest, peak of COVID-19 cases. The state saw 5,048 new cases on Thursday, the most it has recorded since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. MORE.

Taliban ‘set woman on fire for bad cooking’ as protesters beaten in brutal reprisals

Remember the assurances the Taliban has tried to offer the world that it is seeking peace and calm after forcefully taking over Kabul?

Well, try this one on for size: just days after seizing control of Afghanistan, the Taliban reportedly set a woman on fire because they were “dissatisfied with her cooking”, according to the Telegraph.

The horrifying incident came after the Taliban attacked people waving the Afghan flag and forced a German charity to close its doors. The charity said the safe houses it was running for Afghan nationals had become “death traps”.

Marcus Grotian, an active German soldier who ran the charity, said: “The Taliban are going door to door looking for local forces. This was foreseeable, and there has already been a visit to one of the safehouses by the Taliban. Thank God it was empty.”

Islamists also “went door to door hunting journalists and interpreters,” the Telegraph wrote.

“Multiple reports of casual abuse of women by insurgents” have been reported after the Afghan government collapsed. This included one woman who was “put on fire because she was accused of bad cooking for Taliban fighters”.

Najla Ayoubi, a former judge and campaigner against violence against women who fled the country said: “They are forcing people to give them food and cook them food. They also force families to marry their young daughters to Taliban fighters. I don’t see where is the promise that they think women should be going to work, when we are seeing all of these atrocities.”

While the Taliban has publicly promised to respect women’s rights, fighters on the ground appear to be indulging in “impulsive acts”, the report says.

One former military interpreter concluded: “We need to get out before they come knocking on the door.” MORE.

Study Finds 92% Of Taliban Are Happy They Voted For Biden

According to a survey conducted by local media in Taliban-controlled Kabul, 92% of Taliban fighters are very thankful they decided to vote for Biden in the 2020 election.

“Of course I voted for Biden! Didn’t everyone around here?” said Abdul Mohammed Mohammed Abdul Mohammed, a local infantry warrior who just finished storming the capital. “It was very easy. The American soldiers were just leaving garbage bags full of absentee ballots around, so we just filled them out and sent them back! Allah be praised!”

There is wide agreement among the Taliban that Biden was the right man for the job—that job being to give up the country of Afghanistan and let the Taliban take it over without a fight.

“Yes, we like Biden very much around here, and even his henchwoman, Kamil Harris,” said another local militant.

The Taliban reports being in very good spirits after taking over an entire country in one day, and are looking forward to voting in America’s 2022 election.
