CNN had ben acting as the Taliban’s PR firm in an effort to make Biden’s Afghanistan catastrophe seem less catastrophic with a “terrorists ain’t so bad and neither is Joe for letting them take over” campaign. That appears to be over because the fake news network is now trying to link the Taliban with U.S. white supremacist extremism. No doubt this is to deflect the blame when there is an Islamic attack in America because Joe let Afghanistan fall to the terrorists.
Here’s an unexpected headline from the global leader in bullshit:
White supremacist praise of the Taliban takeover concerns US officials
As the United States-backed government in Afghanistan fell to the Taliban and US troops raced to leave the country, White supremacist and anti-government extremists have expressed admiration for what the Taliban accomplished, a worrying development for US officials who have been grappling with the threat of domestic violent extremism.
While that opening statement promises the article will be about how multiple white supremacists are praising the Taliban and it is concerning to several government officials, CNN only delivers one example of this praise:
Far-right extremist communities have been invigorated by the events in Afghanistan, “whether by their desire to emulate the Taliban or increasingly violent rhetoric about ‘invasions’ by displaced Afghans,” according to recent analysis from SITE Intelligence Group, an American non-governmental organization that tracks online activity of White supremacist and jihadist organizations.
For example, a quote taken from the Proud Boy to Fascist Pipeline Telegram channel, said: “These farmers and minimally trained men fought to take back their nation back from globohomo. They took back their government, installed their national religion as law, and executed dissenters … If white men in the west had the same courage as the Taliban, we would not be ruled by Jews currently,” SITE found.
Seriously, that’s the only example of white supremacists praising the Taliban. An anonymous quote from the Internet.
And CNN only found one government official who is concerned with this:
Several concerning trends have emerged in recent weeks on online platforms commonly used by anti-government, White supremacist and other domestic violent extremist groups, including “framing the activities of the Taliban as a success,” and a model for those who believe in the need for a civil war in the US, the head of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis, John Cohen, said on a call Friday with local and state law enforcement, obtained by CNN.
In reality, that government official isn’t concerned with the single anonymous quote CNN used because the phone call with Cohen was last Friday and the supposed white supremacist praise of the Taliban came afterwards.
This is a masterclass in fake news: take two unrelated things that sound scary, toss them in a word salad, and freak people out with an alarming and misrepresented headline.
What CNN is attempting to do here is take focus off of Joe Biden’s bungling of the Afghanistan troop withdrawal by claiming the real threat to America is not Islamic terrorism but home-grown white supremacy.
Who are these white supremacist groups? What are their numbers? What are their activities?
Despite the warnings from the Biden administration and the liberal media about white supremacist extremists, I’ve never seen more than a handful of knuckleheads gathering at any given time and they sure as hell don’t do anything but get outnumbered by Antifa.
On the other hand, we’ve all seen what the Taliban, al Qaeda, and ISIS can do. These are real groups with real members and real terrorist activities.
The truth is, Joe Biden has made the world and the U.S. less safe by handing Afghanistan over to the Taliban, turning the country into the global home of Islamic terrorism. Some random dude on the Internet is not a credible threat to America, but suicide-bombing jihadis are.
