High School Cancels 9/11 Tribute Because American Flag Is ‘Racially Insensitive’

9/11 was an attack on all Americans, every race, creed, and color, not just white people. This past weekend marked 20 years since the deadliest terror attack on American soil and Americans of every race, creed, and color marked the grim anniversary with national pride. Well, one high school in Washington state didn’t because the principal felt that the red, white, and blue of the American flag was racially insensitive.

Radio host Jason Rantz reports on this for MyNorthwest.com:

Students of a local high school were ready to wear red, white, and blue to honor the lives lost on Sept. 11. But school staff pulled the plug, concerned the expression could be racially insensitive and offend some people.

At Eastlake High School in Sammamish, student leadership promoted a Patriot’s Day theme at a football game at Memorial Stadium against Rainier Beach. The game was previously canceled, then rescheduled to the day before the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Students wanted to do something to remember the tragic events. But staff intervened.

According to an email obtained by the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH, the principal said wearing those colors could “unintentionally cause offense to some who see it differently.”

And by “those colors” the principal means the red, white, and blue of the American flag.

The themed event was to include students wearing red, white, and blue to the football game Friday night, to honor the victims of 9/11. The students were informed on Friday morning that they were not allowed to wear American flag colors to the game.

“At this point, I was fairly upset and confused as to why the theme was changed so I went around asking students in our leadership. They had explained that red, white, and blue was going to be seen as racially insensitive and may affect people in a way that we will not understand and for that reason that we were to change our theme,” said one student.

Several parents e-mailed the principal asking for an explanation and got this ridiculous response:

“Our leadership teachers made this decision and explained it to students. I know tomorrow is 9/11 and understand the sacrifice and values our flag represents, but I think they just did not want to unintentionally cause offense to some who see it differently,” wrote principal Chris Bede.

That’s some leadership they have there, isn’t it? What country do they think their high school is located in?

If someone is offended by the American flag, the colors of the American flag, or an expression of patriotism, they shouldn’t be living in America. It’s that simple: don’t like it? F*ck off to China or Venezuela or some other commie shithole.

What do you want to bet that this high school does teach Critical Race Theory that instructs white students that they are all racist and evil? Isn’t that racially insensitive?

I’m sure the school also allows students of color to wear Black Lives Matter shirts and any number of racially divisive slogans. Yet, kids want to wear red, white, and blue to pay tribute to the victims of an American tragedy and they are blocked.

This is part of the left’s campaign to turn the American flag into a symbol of hate and it needs to be stopped. Actually, all leftist campaigns must be terminated but this is an easy one to tackle: An American flag in one hand and a middle finger for the America-haters on the other.
