The craziest thing about this story is that it happened in Utah. A school bus driver was fired for displaying signs on his bus with conservative messages like “there’s a difference between boys and girls” and “Police officers keep us safe.” I’m certain this school district tolerates “Black Lives Matter” signs as well as anti-cop/anti-gun messaging, but the controversial science of biology cannot be tolerated.
FOX 13 Salt Lake City reports:
A bus driver with the Alpine School District is no longer employed by the district, after parents and students said the driver displayed controversial signs inside his bus and went on political rants over the intercom.
Photos showed a sampling of the signs, many political and religious in nature, questioning policies such as gun control, free healthcare, and education. Topics focused on included government policy, abortion and the LGBTQ community.
The school provided 3 pictures of these offending signs, so they must be the worst. Let’s have a look:

It seems like the correct course of action here would have been to ask the bus driver to remove the signs and move on. Instead, they fired the guy, meaning they find his messages to be deeply offensive. The news indicated that some minority students were upset by these signs, so maybe that’s a clue as to why there wasn’t a reasonable resolution here.
I’m not sure how big of a minority population this particular area of Utah has but it must be small because all the news could find was a couple of outraged white parents:
McCollum called the situation ‘upsetting,’ and said while she expects students to learn various political beliefs at school, she expects them to be able to see both sides and have the chance to engage with critical thinking.
“We have children who have been seeing this every day for how long? And we haven’t had the opportunity to present both sides, or to talk about how these things might align or not with our values and our values for society,” said McCollum.
What’s the other side of the fact that there are only 2 genders or that socialism is bullshit which she want’s to present to her child?
The news also spoke to the guy who got the bus driver fired. Shockingly, he appears to be gay:
Case said his daughter rode that bus for the first time last week, as she went home to a friend’s house. He said the signs upset his daughter and daughter’s friends.
“It just has to do with appropriateness of, is this the right place to put the messaging?,” he asked. Case said he immediately notified district transportation officials about the signs on Friday, and they told him they would look into it.
So actually, it was one gay dad, whose daughter doesn’t even live on that bus driver’s route, who was offended by the signs. It wasn’t “parents” or students of color, just this one single “Boy Karen.”
This bus driver had apparently been working for the school district for quite some time and nobody ever complained before. Boy Karen ratted the driver out on Friday and Monday morning he was fired.
