In what has to be an effort to make the January 6 nothing burger into something, Nancy Pelosi is using the Capitol Police to spy on Republican members of the House. I suppose it could be a way for Pelosi to dig up dirt on Republicans to try to ward off the ass-whooping democrats are facing in the mid terms. Either way, it’s illegal and unethical.
This starts out with what should be big news from Politico:
After the Jan. 6 insurrection, the Capitol Police’s intelligence unit quietly started scrutinizing the backgrounds of people who meet with lawmakers, according to three people familiar with the matter.
POLITICO also viewed written communications describing the new approach, part of a host of changes that the department implemented after the Capitol attack.
Among those who have been subject to new Capitol Police scrutiny are Hill staffers, the three people said. All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.
Gee, it all sounds so innocent when Politico says the Capitol Police are “scrutinizing” the backgrounds of people who meet with House Reps. The reality is, it’s full on spying, including surveillance, and it’s not just people who meet with Reps, it’s the Representatives themselves.

The @CapitolPolice Intelligence Division investigated my office illegally and one of my staffers caught them in the act.

On November 20th, 2021, Capitol Police entered my office without my knowledge and photographed confidential legislative products protected by the Speech and Debate clause enshrined in the Constitution, Article 1 Section 6.

Two days later on Monday November 22, 2021 (Thanksgiving week), three intelligence officers attempted to enter my office while the House was in recess.

Upon discovering a member of my staff, special agents dressed like construction workers began to question him as to the contents of a photograph taken illegally two days earlier.

.@CapitolPolice never informed myself or senior level staff of their investigation and the reasons are clear.
— Congressman Troy Nehls (@RepTroyNehls) February 8, 2022
They had no authority to photograph my office, let alone investigate myself or members of my staff.
So, why is the Capitol Police Leadership maliciously investigating me in an attempt to destroy me and my character?
— Congressman Troy Nehls (@RepTroyNehls) February 8, 2022
Maybe it is because I have been a vocal critic of @SpeakerPelosi, the @January6thCmte, and @CapitolPolice leadership about their handling of January 6th, the death of Ashli Babbitt and the subsequent SHAM investigation.

At this point it should be painfully obvious that the Capitol Police are not spying on all members of the House, just Republicans. Actually, I’m pretty sure Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are not part of this illegal surveillance, but real Republicans are.
The Capitol Police are above oversight and only answer to the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. They are her secret police force and she’s using them like a communist dictator to silence her enemies.
