There’s been a lot of really silly things that have been declared racist lately, but this one might be true. According to the Biden administration, diesel-powered trucks are racist. It sounds dumb, but Joe Biden said he used to drive a big rig and we all know he has a history of racism so this one is plausible.
Illegitimate vice president Kamala Harris, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and EPA chief Michael Regan had an exciting announcement regarding electric vehicles on Monday. It’s unclear what that announcement was, but rest assured it was exciting:
Buttigieg kicked things off by saying the ket to beating high gas prices is buying an electric vehicle. Apparently the best way to beat inflation is to be rich enough that you can afford to pay more for things. He didn’t have anything quote-worthy, so I’ll leave you with this:
Kamala Harris was up next and she cackled at several unfunny things before trying out this quote she hopes will finally establish her as a serious person:
“We have the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been. And then to make the possible actually happen,” said Harris.
I’m not sure what that means, but it is a lovely word salad.
The real star of the show was EPA administrator Michael Regan who let us know that trucks with internal combustion engines are racist AF:
“We’re pressing the accelerator to reach a zero-emissions future sooner than most people thought. EPA’s two announcements today are about seizing opportunity that technology presents and driving towards a cleaner, healthier, more just future for all of our children,” said Regan.
A more just future? So the present time is unjust due to the existence of diesel-powered trucks? Yup:
“The first of these is EPA’s clean truck proposal. 72 million people are estimated to live near truck freight routes in America and they’re more likely to be people of color and those with lower income. Those overburdened communities are directly exposed to pollution that leads to respiratory and cardiovascular problems,” Regan said.
When he says “truck freight routes” does he mean roads, because everyone lives near those in America. It’s the Biden administration’s contention that only people of color live near roads and that this is somehow racist. If this were true, white communities would be “overburdened” because they are isolated from society.
The thing about air pollution is, it doesn’t discriminate. If you live in a big city with a lot of pollution, you are breathing the same air as everyone else in the area. The smog doesn’t seek out and attack neighborhoods based on race. It disperses evenly over the entire city. In the Los Angeles area, the air is just as shitty in Beverly Hills as it is in Compton or East LA.
Last year, Pete Buttigieg declared “Highways are racist!” because they cut-off and divide communities of color. Now the Biden administration is further asserting the racism of roadways because diesel-powered trucks unleash “smart smog” that targets people of color. It’s hard to be this full of shit, but they’re pulling it off.
