When Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine over two weeks ago it was assumed that the mighty Russian military would crush the smaller, less armed country in a matter of days. That however never happened and in fact, Russia looks like they bogged down and losing. The reason for this is simple: Russia’s military is pathetic. It’s a good thing they have nukes or Kazakhstan could kick their ass.
There is a 40-mile long armored Russian convoy outside of Ukraine capitol Kyiv that has stalled because it ran out of gas. It has largely been abandoned by Russian troops and Ukraine forces are picking it apart from the rear.
And that’s just one of Russia’s problems. Check this out from The NY Post:
Another Russian general has died, and other senior army officers have either been killed or wounded in fighting in Ukraine this week — only adding to what Kremlin officials are reportedly calling a complete “clusterf–k.’’
Russian Maj. Gen. Vitaly Gerasimov and some senior officers were struck down in fighting in Kharkiv on Monday, days after Gen. Andrei Sukhovetsky was killed by a sniper, Ukrainian officials said.
A week ago, Russian journalist Farida Rustamova wrote on Substack that a high-level source told her Kremlin insiders believed the war on Ukraine has been a complete disaster.
It’s pretty rare for a general to die in combat and Russia has suffered 2 such losses in as many weeks. That’s sad, but then again, so is this, as reported by Mediaite:
The U.S. intelligence community has estimated up to 4,000 Russian soldiers might have been killed in less than two weeks of fighting in Ukraine.
Soldiers from Russia’s military have been photographed killing men, women, and children. They have also bombed a hospital and residential buildings throughout Ukraine’s cities.
According to Lt. Gen. Scott Berrier, who is the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Russian causalities are also mounting.
Berrier addressed the House Intelligence Committee Tuesday, where he offered lawmakers the best estimate of Russian losses.
For a little perspective, the United States lost 2,401 soldiers in the 20-year War in Afghanistan and Russia has lost 4,000 in two weeks in Ukraine.
And finally, The NY Post reports that Ukraine sank Putin’s battleship:
A Russian warship that fired on a group of Ukrainian border guards after being told to “go f–k yourself” was destroyed in battle, according to a report Tuesday.
“We f–king hit them,” a man is heard saying on a recording of the conflict, the Times of London said.
Another man reportedly echoed the famous words of the Ukrainian soldier who defiantly resisted a Russian order to surrender a military outpost on Snake Island in the Black Sea during Day One of the invasion.
“Russian warship, go f–k yourself,” the man said.
The Valisy Bykov, a small warship known as a “corvette,” was one of two Russian vessels that opened fire on Snake Island on Feb. 24, the Times said, citing the Janes military intelligence group.
The Vasily Bykov was then hit during an exchange of rockets early Monday, possibly by a missile fired by land-based Ukrainian forces defending the port city of Odessa, which for days has been bracing for a Russian attack, the Times said.
“Ship was destroyed, it is confirmed,” a Ukrainian military source told the British paper.
The Ukrainian navy also reportedly said units defending Odessa had “struck an enemy ship”, adding: “The enemy has retreated again.”
Ukraine doesn’t even have a navy and they’re f*cking up the Russian Armada.
Russia is pretty good at blowing up hospitals and schools with missile attacks, but when it comes to actual combat, they completely suck.
Just imagine if Biden had equipped Ukraine with some decent defensive weapons ahead of the Russian invasion.
