Everything is unaffordable, crime is through the roof, and the world is on fire but don’t fret, the democrats are on it. The party currently in control of the United States government has assessed all of the major problems facing the American people and passed a law that protects black people’s hair from discrimination. Sure, gasoline is now a luxury item but at least black people with freakish hairdos are finally free.
The Hill reports that democrats are not serious people:
The House passed legislation on Friday that would prohibit discrimination against people with hair styles associated with a particular race or national origin.
Lawmakers passed the bill, titled the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair, or CROWN, Act, largely along party lines, 235-189. Only 14 Republicans joined Democrats in support of the measure.
Natural hair? They are talking about weaves and all kinds of unnatural things black people glue to their heads.
Proponents of the measure argued that formally banning hair discrimination is necessary because Black people are often penalized under workplace and school dress code policies that frown upon hairstyles such as afros, braids and cornrows.
Black women in particular are more likely to report feeling discriminated against because of their hairstyles.
Is it such a tragedy that some places of employment expect workers that have a professional appearance? A white guy couldn’t get away with have a big red mohawk working at JP Morgan so why should a black woman with 4-foot dreads get a free pass?
“For too long, Black girls have been discriminated against and criminalized for the hair that grows on our heads and the way we move through and show up in this world,” said Rep. Ayanna Pressley.
Grows on our heads? This is literally what grows on Ayanna Pressley’s head:
It looks like her scalp has discriminated against black hair.
While some Republicans voted for this farce, Rep. Jim Jordan wasn’t among them:
House Republicans questioned the need for the legislation on Friday because they believe existing law that bans race-based discrimination is already applicable.
“It’s covered. It’s wrong if it happens,” said Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio), the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee.
Jordan spent much of his remarks making the case that the House should be considering legislation related to inflation or record high gas prices instead.
“The Democrats today, Friday, March 18, 2022, with chaos all over the place, this is what they’re focused on. This is what they’re focused on,” Jordan said.
And like they do when ever facts get in the way of their bullshit, the democrats fired back with a baseless accusation of racism. This is how Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman defended the utter uselessness of the bill she co-sponsored:
“I understand that my colleagues on the Republican side don’t get the vast array of discriminatory practices because they spend so much time trying to perpetuate an all-white society here in the most diverse country in the world,” said Watson Coleman.
She does understand that she’s in the same party as Sheldon Whitehouse who belongs to an all-white beach club and Joe Biden who didn’t want his white kids growing up in a “racial jungle,” right?
Speaking of which, Joe Biden is looking forward to signing this bill that will almost certainly die in the Senate:
“The president believes that no person should be denied the ability to obtain a job, succeed in school or the workplace, secure housing, or otherwise exercise their rights based on a hair texture or hair style,” said the White House in a statement.
Here’s the deal: people are born with their skin color but they choose their hairstyles. You can’t discriminate against people based on their race but you should be able to deny employment to a person if they have decided to look like a freak or scumbag.
