The big news, at least for the liberal media, is that there is a tape of GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy talking about talking about resignation with Donald Trump following the January 6 nothing burger. McCarthy denies he ever told Trump to resign and there is no proof that he did but that hasn’t stopped Elizabeth Warren, who spent most of her adult life lying that she was an Indian, from calling the Republican a liar.
A couple of NYT reporters who wrote a book dropped the non-bombshell lie that Kevin McCarthy asked Trump to resign following the undercover FBI assault of the Capitol on January 6. McCarthy denied this:

In an attempt at a gotcha, the NYT released some audio of McCarthy talking to Liz Cheney on January 10, 2021 that Rachel Maddow played on the air:
CHENEY: I guess there’s a question. When we’re talking about the 25th Amendment resolution, and you asked if, you know, what happens if it gets there after he’s gone, is there any chance, are you hearing, that he might resign, is there any reason to think that might happen?
MCCARTHY: I’ve a few discussions. My gut tells me no, I’m seriously thinking of having that conversation with him tonight. I haven’t talked to him in a couple of days. From what I know of him, I mean you guys know him too, do you think he’d ever back away? But, what I think I’m going to do, is I’m going to call him. This is what I think, we know it’ll pass the House.
I think there’s a chance it’ll pass the Senate, even when he is gone. And I think there’s a lot of different ramifications for that. Now, I haven’t had a discussion with the DEMs, that if he did resign, with that happen? Now, this is one personal fear I have. I do not want to get into any conversation about Pence pardoning. Again, the only discussion I would have with him is that, I think this will pass. And it will be my recommendation you should resign. I mean, that would be my take. But I don’t think he would take it. But I don’t know.
In another attempt at a gotcha, the liberal media asked McCarthy if he ever asked Trump to resign:
Kevin McCarthy told Rep. Cheney that he’s going to tell President Trump “it would be my recommendation you should resign.”
Now he says “I never asked the President to resign and I never thought that he should resign. pic.twitter.com/NutcI7nLzW

You can interpret the Liz Cheney call anyway you want but McCarthy is not lying. He spoke to Cheney about the prospect of speaking with Trump concerning resignation. He was then asked if he ever spoke to Trump about resigning or specifically asked Trump to resign, which he denied. Where is the proof he told Trump to resign? Without it, this is an even bigger nothing burger than the “deadly January 6 insurrection.”
And speaking of nothing, Elizabeth Warren went on CNN to accuse McCarthy of lying and treason:
“Kevin McCarthy is a liar and a traitor. This is outrageous. And that is really the illness that pervades the Republican leadership right now, that they say one thing to the American public and something else in private,” Warren said.
That’s rich coming from Fauxcahontas, who told the American people she was an Indian princess, even after it was thoroughly debunked by genealogists and Native American experts.
As for McCarthy being a traitor, in order for that to be true, he would have to be in cahoots with our enemies. Since the United States has no formal declarations of war, the only enemy we have is the democratic party and as far as I know, McCarthy never colluded with them.
