GOP Offers Smart 2A Alternative to Democrat Gun Control—Rep. Stefanik Introduces Legislation for Gun Safety Incentives

In the wake of recent shootings, democrats have pushed for extreme limits on Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

It seems democrats think the only way forward is to deprive citizens of their constitutional rights.

Republicans disagree.

From Fox News:

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik is introducing legislation aimed at promoting gun training and safety in the wake of several mass shootings across the United States.

Stefanik told Fox News Digital:

As [d]emocrats rush to push their radical gun control agenda, I am proud to lead the charge in introducing legislation to promote gun training and safety,

Imagine that—Republicans are introducing a bill that will encourage gun safety.

There will be naysayers out there, but at least this is addressing the problem from a different direction–in opposition to attacking the Second Amendment.

This proposal just may be a move that will have many asking, ‘Why haven’t they tried this before?’

The bill will incentivize Americans to receive gun training and encourage them to purchase gun safety and storage equipment.

The goal is to allow Americans to safely exercise their gun rights, rather than deprive them of the ability to purchase and own firearms.

The bill also bans the left’s so-called national gun registry, by stating taxpayers do not have to “provide any information” to the government.

And government officials will be allowed to hold onto tax deduction information for only three years.

This is the kind of clever, common-sense bill that all congressmen should embrace.
The kind of bill politicians of old would have compromised to pass.

But these days, democrats are not interested in compromise. And the democrat-communist goal of gun confiscation will still be standing in the way of any compromise and any progress toward addressing the root problem of gun-related violence.

Will we see something like this passed? If not soon, what about with GOP majorities in both Houses of Congress?

Final thought, attacking the “gun problem” from an alternative direction: Addressing firearm safety and incentivizing training and secure storage of firearms while foregoing a firearm registry and attacks on the Second Amendment may be a way forward. But it is not the answer.

At face value, I don’t see the left accepting anything less than disarming We the People, however, at least Conservatism is bringing something smart and new to the bargaining table.
