In the latest edition of “get woke, go broke” Starbucks is closing 16 locations, all in liberal cities, because after they invited scumbags and criminals into their stores, they became filled with scumbags and criminals. Citing safety concerns, Starbucks says they have no choice but to shutter these locations.
This all started back in 2018 when a couple of black men were sitting inside a Philadelphia Starbucks for a long time without ordering anything. Employees told them that the seats were for paying customers and that they either had to order something or leave. The black men refused to leave, the cops were called, and they were arrested for trespassing.
Though this was a very clear-cut case of trespassing, there was national outrage because the men were black. As you know, it’s very racist to arrest black people for crimes they have committed.
Starbucks agreed and drafted a new policy that allowed anyone, even non-customers, to hang out in the stores and use the bathrooms. The result in many places was that the Starbucks stores were filled with homeless people and drug users. Normal people generally don’t want to step over smelly bums sleeping in the floor to pay $10 for a cup of coffee, nor do they want to get pricked by used needles in the bathrooms.
Which brings us to this, as reported by CNN:
Starbucks is planning to close 16 locations across various cities, citing safety concerns.
“After careful consideration, we are closing some stores in locations that have experienced a high volume of challenging incidents that make it unsafe to continue to operate,” a spokesperson told CNN Business in an email.
The stores are in Seattle; Los Angeles; Philadelphia; Washington, DC, and Portland, Oregon. They will be closed by the end of July.
Hey, look at that. It’s all stores in democrat-run cities with surging violent crime. Who would have guessed?
Hang on though, because it gets funnier:
In a Monday letter to employees, Debbie Stroud and Denise Nelson, both senior vice presidents of US operations, discussed safety in Starbucks stores.
Employees are “seeing firsthand the challenges facing our communities — personal safety, racism, lack of access to healthcare, a growing mental health crisis, rising drug use, and more,” they wrote, adding that “with stores in thousands of communities across the country, we know these challenges can, at times, play out within our stores too.”
“Lack of access to healthcare” means abortions. What they are saying is that because some red states have restricted abortions, they have to close stores in solid blue states, where abortion is legal, because it’s unsafe for their employees. How does that make any sense?
It seems like the smarter thing, business-wise, would be to admit it was a mistake for inviting all of the scumbags and criminals into the Starbucks in the first place and then change the policy. Instead, they’re going to put hundreds of people out of work.
Bringing this all together: Starbucks has been a big supporter of Black Lives Matter and Defund the Police. These stores that are closing are in places where BLM and defunding police has caused a major spike in crime. Now, Starbucks has to close stores because those things they support have f*cked over their business.
This is textbook instruction on how to shoot yourself in your own asshole.
