Is There Any Hope for NY State? Another Democrat Endorses Republican Lee Zeldin Over Dem Kathy Hochul For Governor

On Thursday, lifelong New York democrat Andrew Stein endorsed U.S. Congressman Lee Zeldin, (R-NY) for NY Governor over Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Zeldin was the victim of a horrific assassination attempt in July while campaigning.

This from thegatewaypundit.com.

Stein was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1969 to 1977 and borough president of Manhattan from 1978 to 1985.

In an opinion piece in the New York Post, Stein wrote,

Throughout those 25 years, it was my sense that we—New York [d]emocrats—were able to accomplish an extraordinary amount vis-à-vis stabilizing our state’s finances, fighting crime, and strengthening the criminal-justice system. We were also able to—when it manifested itself—root out corruption in state government and attack the challenges facing our state in a systematic way, frequently on a bipartisan basis.

Unfortunately, that has all changed.

Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have left the state, taking billions of dollars in tax revenue with them, putting our state at risk of a fiscal crisis.

We must do something about this.

Accordingly, I am supporting Rep. Lee Zeldin, the Republican nominee for governor, against Gov. Kathy Hochul this November.

The outrageous taxation and anti-business policies Hochul and [d]emocrats in the Legislature imposed have led to the mass exodus of the state’s wealthy residents—and in turn, for this impending economic catastrophe.

The Post reported on Monday, that democrat Councilman Robert Holden also endorsed Zeldin saying:

Just look at the current condition of New York City and New York State: There’s mayhem in our streets, in our courts, in our jails.

Holden and Stein join a growing list of New Yorkers fed up with Hochul’s failed leadership as New York suffers from massive crime and a record number of New Yorkers fleeing the state.

New Era Democrats President John Orlando, endorsed Zeldin in early September writing in the Post:

In reality, crime and homelessness are rampant, the public does not feel safe, and people are nervous about public transportation post-COVID.

And the congestion-pricing plan will devastate an already-crippled taxi and for-hire-vehicle industry struggling to recover. We cannot tax our way back into recovery. Congestion pricing will affect minimum-wage and working-class New Yorkers just as harshly.

Orlando was also troubled by Hochul’s comments to Republicans in August.

Hochul told Trump supporters to get the hell out of New York.

We’re here to say that the era of Trump and Zeldin and Molinaro—just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong. Get outta town.

Zeldin hammered Hochul’s complete failure address crime in a recent ad. Watch below:

Presently, Zeldin trails Hochul by only six points.

Final thoughts: Lee Zeldin looks very good—smart, conservative, a veteran, and a Patriot. He graduated law school at the age of 23, served on Active Duty for four years in the U.S. Army, during which time he was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, while assigned to the elite 82nd Airborne Division. He transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserve and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Between 2008 and 2010 he ran a successful law practice before entering politics. A conservative, he has a list of noteworthy accomplishments and will bring to the Governor’s office an opportunity for the state of New York to climb out of the hole in which communists have buried it.
