Commentary: Pelosi, Schumer Eat and Gloat About Ambushing Trump: ‘She Set Him Up So I Could Go in for the Kill’

The video of this “first-ever joint interview” at Chinese restaurant Hunan Dynasty really helps shred the last vestiges of relatability these Washington elites have to everyday Americans, while also shredding whatever’s left of CNN’s journalistic integrity in one fell swoop.

This from an interview by Jamie Gangel on westernjournal.com.

This is thoroughly disgusting and repulsive if not a dual confession to treason:

Gangel said:

I want to talk about how the two of you navigated working with former President Trump,

Schumer said, alongside a downright creepy giggle:

We had a good time.

Gangel made a point of noting that Pelosi “got under” Trump’s skin, though to be fair to Trump, Pelosi is exceptionally skilled at that.

Gangel asked:

Was there a strategy when you went into a meeting? Was there a good cop/bad cop?

So, I’m thinking, ‘How is he going to begin?’

‘Is he going to quote the Constitution, American history, [a] poet, the Bible?’

Pelosi then attempted to mock Trump by lowering her head and hands, as if she was speaking at a podium.

Mimicking Trump, she said:

‘You know, I won the popular vote.’ And I said, ‘Mr. President, that’s just not true.’

Schumer said, referring to the first government shutdown under Trump’s watch:

We sort of set him up, instinctively. We didn’t plan this.

The two took an unusual amount of pride in … getting Trump to take ownership of the aforementioned shutdown? It’s as deliriously self-congratulatory as it sounds.

Pelosi swooned:

Chuck was masterful. He was masterful.

Schumer added:

She set him up so I could go in for the kill.

Schumer said:

So, I said, ‘Mr. President, will you own the shutdown?’

“Trump replied:” ‘Yes, I will.’

Again, Schumer and Pelosi are giddily proud of that?

But perhaps more damning than the lack of scruples from Schumer, Pelosi and CNN is the utter disconnect that these literal coastal elites have from everyday Americans.

The average American doesn’t give a rip about how Schumer and Pelosi “set up” a former president to look foolish.

They care about things like record inflation, putting food on their tables, keeping their cars filled with gas and keeping a roof over their heads.

But instead of doing that, they opted for a publicized live re-enactment of “Mean Girls.”

Final thoughts: If it is possible to dislike Schumer and Pelosi any more, then I do. This dinner interview is pathetic but sadly, not at all surprising. Will we ever see this pair of collaborators indicted for treason? This can’t happen soon enough.
