Texas Judge Drops the Gavel in Historic Ruling – He Stands Up for Parent Rights, Rules Against Birth Control Program for Teens

The issue of parental rights has appropriately taken center-stage in recent years.

Parents have been successfully fighting back against government overreach and have scored several major victories in 2022.

The issue of “reproductive rights” also affects families, as the leftist agenda appears intent on allowing minors to hide everything from their parents.

Prior to the decision, a Title X program allowed teens to get birth control without having to inform their parents.

This rule quickly came under fire, especially from people of faith in the state. A lawsuit was brought against the state by Alexander Deanda, who wanted to raise his 3 children in accordance with Christianity.

Of course, this includes matters of sexuality, and practicing abstinence before marriage.

In the lawsuit, Deanda claimed the Title X clause violates his parental rights, which are guaranteed in the Texas Family Code. And in this case, the judge agreed with the plaintiff.

Via The Daily Wire:

A judge in Texas ruled Tuesday against a program that allowed teenagers to get birth control without telling their parents.

U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk issued a ruling stating that the Title X program violates the rights of parents, as well as state code.

Kacsmaryk used to work as a religious liberty lawyer who assisted in litigating cases looking to get rid of contraception protections.

Judge Kacsmaryk agreed that Title X does violate the father’s rights, and also the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment.

He further added that the government “didn’t have a compelling reason” to trample on the parent’s rights here.

This was widely viewed as a victory among many conservative parents.

However, contrary to common sense, the ruling does not stop clinics from giving birth control to minors without parental consent.

The decision still stands, though, as the judge agreed that the Title X program does violate the constitutional rights of the parents.

“Unsurprisingly, liberals weren’t happy with the decision.”

President and CEO of the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association Clare Coleman said:

Despite the fact that the right to contraceptive access is protected by the U.S. Constitution for all, including adolescents, this ruling seeks to lay the foundation to undo that right.

Millions of American parents still fight to maintain at least some control of their family, and keep the government at arm’s reach.

Their battles in schools is well documented, and many of those fights have resulted in tremendous wins for parents across the country. They consider this a matter of safety for their children.

And when it comes to the issue of ‘reproductive health’ for minors:

“[E]xpect many parents to say, ‘Yes, I have a say in that.'”

Final thoughts: Destructive government policies have gone to great lengths to destroy the family nucleus in America. Now the government is seeking to drive a wedge into those families that are still healthily intact.

Zero government involvement may be detrimental to a healthy society. However, too much government involvement is most certainly detrimental to a healthy society—in body, mind, and soul.
