Report: 2024 GOP Candidates May Freeze Out Mainstream Media

Seldom do I offer to Def-Con News information that is still little more than a kiss in the dark, however, because the GOP is done with the mainstream media—and if they aren’t they should be—I’m eager to share this with DCN readers.

This from americanlookout.com.

According to a new report, 2024 GOP candidates may very well freeze out the mainstream mass propaganda media.

Breitbart reported:

Conservatives and Republicans could, a new report suggests, cut off establishment media outlets’ access in the 2024 election cycle as GOP lawmakers and candidates look to alternative communication channels to tell their stories.

The prospect of the establishment media’s precarious position was captured in a Tuesday article written by the Dispatch’s David Drucker in which he warned Republican lawmakers and candidates heading into the 2024 election cycle “could attempt to freeze out mainstream journalists,” paralyzing television networks’ content creation and crushing their claims of political neutrality.

Drucker warned the establishment media could be suffocated by conservatives because ‘many young GOP communications aides staffing campaigns who came of age in the past decade remain unaccustomed to working with mainstream journalists.’

A poll taken in February found that half of Americans believe the media intends to mislead, misinform, or persuade the public to adopt their worldview.

Fortune reported:

Half of Americans in a recent survey indicated they believe national news organizations intend to mislead, misinform or persuade the public to adopt a particular point of view through their reporting.

The survey, released Wednesday by Gallup and the Knight Foundation, goes beyond others that have shown a low level of trust in the media to the startling point where many believe there is an intent to deceive.

Asked whether they agreed with the statement that national news organizations do not intend to mislead, 50% said they disagreed. Only 25% agreed, the study found.

Similarly, 52% disagreed with a statement that disseminators of national news “care about the best interests of their readers, viewers and listeners,” the study found. It said 23% of respondents believed the journalists were acting in the public’s best interests.

Final thoughts: Please be advised, I am not saying Conservatives and Republicans have come to realize they cannot trust the mass propaganda media, however, if they haven’t, this may very well be a start of that realization.

And if this division in news coverage comes to pass, imagine faking ‘Fair and Balanced’ when politicians and news spinners all remain in their respective corners.
