Florida Doctor Stripped of Board Certification after Treating Patients with Ivermectin and Exploring Alternative Approaches to COVID-19

Doctor John Littell, a family physician and U.S. Army veteran, has been a certified member of the ABFM since 1990. As of March 16, 2023, Littell’s certification has been rescinded due to his alleged spread of Covid-related “health misinformation” and for treating over 3,000 of his Covid-19 patients with Ivermectin.

This from 100percentfedup.com.

In February, Dr. Littell was kicked out of a Sarasota Memorial Hospital Board Meeting after testifying to the effectiveness of Ivermectin to treat Covid-19.

After videos of him speaking about alternative forms of treating Covid-19 at the board meeting went viral, Littell was stripped of his board certification.

In the letter he received from ABFM informing him of the disciplinary action they were taking against him, “Professional Specialist” Andrea D. Back wrote:

ABFM has determined that your Public Channels contain false, inaccurate and misleading statements constituting health misinformation and disinformation about COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccine, and the effort of public health officials to address the COVID-19 pandemic through vaccination and other mitigation measures.

Back also told Littell that he violated Board Guidelines such as:

[A] commitment to lifelong learning, honesty to the public, competence, and refraining from disruptive behavior in a healthcare environment.

As evidence for his violations of these guidelines, Back references the time Littell called the Covid-19 vaccine a “product of genetic engineering,” as well as his claims that the vaccine has caused deaths in children.

Back wrote:

There is no evidence that pediatric myocarditis deaths, attributed to COVID vaccination, are more numerous than prevented deaths, serious illness, or hospitalizations from COVID.

The myocarditis caused by COVID vaccination is mild and not associated with fatalities.

Back also references a conference Littell attended called “Florida Summit on COVID II: The Future of Medicine in Post-COVID America,” criticizing the “misinformation” that was shared there.

The letter stated:

ABFM has determined that all of the statements include demonstrably false, inaccurate, and/or misleading statements about COVID-19 and vaccination against COVID-19 and represent an ongoing pattern of dissemination of health misinformation.

Littell was then informed that, as of March 16, his certification is “rescinded” and that he will have 20 days to appeal the decision.

In response to this, Littell condemned the board’s decision, calling it “corrupt.”

Littell told the Floridian:

You have no chance of being a conservative and speaking out and keeping your certification.

Will this stop me from teaching medical students? Will this stop me from working in a hospital?

One would at least expect to receive a letter from the president of the American Boad of Family Medicine who happens to be a family physician.

Final thoughts: This is not even a tough decision on which professional I would support—Littell or Back. One should be continuing to work to help people and the other should be charged and incarcerated awaiting trial for crimes against humanity.
