A Retired Military Dog’s Trip to Starbucks for His First Pup Cup Is a Pleasure to Watch

There is always something very dear and heartwarming about seeing a video of a dog enjoying a well-deserved treat—in this instance it is a pup cup from Starbucks.

And it is even more heartwarming to learn the dog receiving the treat had dedicated his life to serving in the armed forces.

This from pethelpful.com.

After all his years of service, Rider is ready for the life of being a family companion.

These brave military dogs perform everything demanded of them from search and rescue missions to working alongside soldiers to detect and neutralize enemy threats.

Not all of these dogs survive their ordeals, but those that do have well-earned the down time and the treats.

TikTok user @Mwdrex and rider posted a clip of her retired military dog Rider getting his first pup cup and it is absolutely a pleasure to watch. Notice how well behaved Rider is.

Watch the video to see this hero dog go with dad to get his treat.

Thank you for your service Rider, and enjoy your retirement.

Wait… Do working dogs not get treats like that because they are working dogs?

Will you explain this in a video response? I’m genuinely curious.

Ask and you shall receive, Crystal, because Rider’s owner posted a follow up!

In the video, Rex explains that military dogs usually live on base, so the pup cup opportunities aren’t readily available.
