Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced he is running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. For some reason, he chose to do this on Twitter and there were catastrophic technical issues. It was a given that former President Donald Trump was going to slam DeSantis’ announcement, but with the Twitter fiasco, it may be 44’s funniest trolling job yet.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has over 140 million followers, so when he decided to host Ron DeSantis’ 2024 announcement on Twitter Spaces, there were high expectations it would reach a large audience. Unfortunately only around 300,000 people turned in and that was hardly the biggest issue.

Musk’s highly anticipated announcement on Twitter’s “Spaces” feature that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would formally enter the GOP presidential race turned into a debacle for the Tesla mogul on Wednesday.
Twitter’s mobile app repeatedly crashed, and users complained they were unable to hear the broadcast. The issues came after a lengthy delay as it appeared the platform was completely overwhelmed for arguably the biggest Twitter event since Musk purchased the social media platform last year.
Musk has a staggering 140.8 million Twitter followers, but fewer than 300,000 managed to tune in for the DeSantis chat. The Twitter Space had 900,000 concurrent viewers at one point, according to screenshots of the space, but more than two-thirds bailed or were unable to listen because of the tech issues by the time DeSantis was able to begin.
The botched event was seen as a black eye for Musk as he aims to expand Twitter’s abilities. The teeny-tiny audience was mocked across the media landscape…
The event also featured random throat clearing, silence and widespread confusion among listeners.

As you can see, Musk and DeSantis have been joined by George Sorors, Klaus Schwab, Dick Cheney, Adolph Hitler, Gay Satan, and the FBI. That alone is funnier than shit, but the dialog is pure comedy gold. This parade nails all of these personalities and the line about the Devil being gay is one of the funniest things ever.
Actually, when Trump pops into the conversation at the end is the funniest moment.
“Hold your horses Elon, the real President is going to say a few words. The Devil, I’m going to kick your ass very soon. Hitler, you’re already dead. Dick Cheney, sounds like you’ll be joining Hitler very soon. Klaus Schwab and George Soros, I’m putting both of your asses in jail,” said Trump.
Pretty great already, but Trump ended with this:
“And Ron DeSanctimonious can kiss my big beautiful 2024 Presidential ass. Tump 2024, baby. Let’s go!” Trump finished.
Like the headline said, this is too funny.
The leftist media has been trying to destroy Ron DeSantis since the pandemic, which means they are sufficiently scared of him. That also means he’s got a great shot of beating Joe Biden in a general election.
The problem is, DeSantis cannot match Trump’s expert troll game. DeSantis isn’t as much of a milquetoast as Jeb Bush, but there’s no way he can stand up to Trump’s ridicule and he will be crushed in the primaries. This hilarious parody should let DeSantis know that he’s out of his league.
