A Republican effort to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (C/G-CA) failed on Wednesday after 20 Republicans broke with their own party to join democrats communists/globalists in a motion to table the resolution.
This from msn.com.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) a member of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus, sought to censure Schiff for alleging collusion between Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
But the House voted 225-196 to table the resolution and defeat the effort to censure Schiff.
The failed resolution also intended to fine Schiff $16 million, approximately half the amount it cost the U.S. government for special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s alleged ties to Russia.
Schiff wrote in a tweet:
[T]he partisan and failed attempt to censure me is a badge of honor that I will wear proudly.
Schiff wrote:
MAGA Republicans are going after me because I dared to hold Donald Trump accountable.
These efforts to intimidate me will not succeed. I will always defend our democracy.
Listed below are the twenty Republicans who opposed the effort to censure Schiff:
- Representative Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota
- Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer of Oregon
- Representative Juan Ciscomani of Arizona
- Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma
- Representative Warren Davidson of Ohio
- Representative Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
- Representative Kay Granger of Texas
- Representative Garret Graves of Louisiana
- Representative Thomas Kean Jr. of New Jersey
- Representative Kevin Kiley of California
- Representative Young Kim of California
- Representative Mike Lawler of New York
- Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky
- Representative Tom McClintock of California
- Representative Mark Molinaro of New York
- Representative Jay Obernolte of California
- Representative Mike Simpson of Idaho
- Representative Mike Turner of Ohio
- Representative David Valadao of California
- Representative Steve Womack of Arkansas
Final thought: Letters to these sell-outs will likely not do any good. But we can be certain President Trump and the MAGA team have plans for each of them.
Further, I hear rumblings of a second censure vote for Schiff in the works. We’ll have to wait and see.
