The White House has expressed openness to a ridiculous proposal aimed at blocking sunlight from reaching the Earth’s surface in an effort to ‘combat global warming.’
This from beckernews.com.
In a report released on Friday, the White House presented the concept of solar radiation modification (SRM) as a means to rapidly cool the planet by limiting sunlight. However, the administration emphasized that no decisions have been made regarding a “geoengineering” policy, clarifying that the report was prepared in response to a congressional directive.
The report outlined various methods for achieving SRM, but cautioned that each approach carried the risk of severe consequences if mismanaged.
One strategy suggested increasing aerosol concentrations in the stratosphere to reflect solar radiation away from the Earth. Alternatives included augmenting cloud coverage over oceans or reducing cirrus cloud formations that reflect solar radiation back to the planet.
In the report, The Regime reiterated its commitment to addressing climate issues. It stated:
Climate change is already having profound effects on the physical and natural world, as well as on human well-being. These effects will only intensify as greenhouse gas concentrations rise and warming continues.
Understanding these impacts is crucial to inform decisions regarding the potential role of SRM in mitigating the hardships associated with climate change.
It was noted in the report that undertaking such an immense endeavor could lead to significant disruptions in weather patterns, food supplies, biodiversity, geopolitics, and human health. Furthermore, the report warned of the potential for abrupt warming if the decision to implement SRM was reversed and the sun’s rays rapidly heated the Earth again.
According to peer-reviewed temperature data published by researcher C.R. Scotese and carbon dioxide data published by R.A. Berner of Yale University in the dataset Geocarb III (page 201):
The planet is at relatively low global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels in earth historical terms.
According to these datasets:
[T]he earth’s current carbon dioxide level of 420 ppm (parts per million) is compared to levels of over 2,000 ppm in the Mesozoic era and over 4,000 in the Paleozoic era.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA):
The earth’s average global temperature is approximately 13.9 degrees Celsius, compared to nearly 22 degrees Celsius, the peak temperature prior to the current Quaternary Ice Age extending through much of the Mesozoic era and again through periods of the Paleozoic era.
Life on earth flourished in both of these eras, despite much higher carbon dioxide levels and much higher average global temperatures. The Cambrian Explosion of life roughly 544 million years ago initiated with some of the highest global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels in the historical record.
Nonetheless, The Regime’s report claimed that SRM could offer the possibility of significantly cooling the planet within a few years. However, The Regime clarified in a statement accompanying the report that there were no plans to establish a comprehensive research program focused on solar radiation modification at the present time.
Scientists hold differing views on the potential benefits of this risky plan, with some expressing concern about catastrophic changes to the Earth’s atmosphere. Others argue that it could serve as a last resort if fears about climate change materialize in the coming decades.
Shuchi Talati, the executive director of the Alliance for Just Deliberation on Solar Geoengineering, highlighted the significance of the report’s existence, stating:
The fact that this report even exists is probably the most consequential component of this release.
Final thoughts: Obviously, what we have here are differing opinions with each side saying the other’s proposal is extreme.
The Obiden Regime has made climate policy a central focus across various sectors, including infrastructure and transportation. The results are proving to be costly, job-killing, and questionable.
President Trump notably dismissed climate change as a hoax.
