Doctors flabbergasted after finding octopus in patient’s throat
Doctors were flabbergasted after discovering that a Singapore man’s throat discomfort was caused by an eight-legged mollusk that had become stuck in his gullet.
The unnamed patient had reportedly first realized something was awry after he started vomiting following a meal that included the cephalopod.
The diner also had trouble swallowing, prompting him to pay a visit to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Doctors conducted a CT scan, which revealed a super-dense mass in the man’s esophagus.
A subsequent esophagogastroduodenoscopy — a gastrointestinal examination involving a small, flexible tube — showed a tentacled octopus lodged two inches from the esophagus-stomach border like something out of Ridley Scott’s “Alien.”
After initial attempts to push or extract the interloper were unsuccessful, medics navigated the endoscope past the octopus into the stomach and retroflexed it.
They then used forceps to grasp the critter’s head and remove it from the patient.
Thankfully, the patient recovered well following surgery and was discharged after two days.

Exclusive girls’ school called out after drone footage reveals phallic garden
A private girls’ school in Australia was caught in quite a pickle over a garden-variety penis.
The $39,000-a-year Presbyterian Ladies’ College in Sydney inadvertently erected a phallic-looking front garden on its Croydon campus, the Morning Herald reported.
Headmaster Paul Burgis said he missed the shape during the design phase, but that a former student who viewed a drone’s footage pointed it out.
A school employee also provided “feedback” on the garden gaffe, he told the outlet.
“As part of recording the updates we sent a drone up to take pictures. At a certain angle from up high, the garden with its room for chairs took on a phallic shape which was unintended and unexpected,” Burgis told the Herald.
“As a result, the architects made some alterations which were completed within 72 hours of the drone pictures,” he said.
A former student with ongoing ties to the school said the shape of the original garden was obvious.
“It was unmistakably shaped like a penis and testicles,” she said on condition of anonymity.
Reportedly, the penis garden identifies as a vagina garden.

Man flees home and hides in bush after woman threatens to cut off his genitals
A man fled a home and hid in a nearby bush after a woman armed with a machete threatened to cut off his genitals.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded at about 2 a.m. Tuesday to the couple’s home in Summerfield. The man, who was carrying his infant daughter, was out of breath and soaked in sweat.
The man said he had been in bed sleeping when 44-year-old Dawn Marie Hildebrant went through his phone. She smashed the phone and began screaming at the man before grabbing a machete and “threatening to cut off his genitals,” the report said. The deputy found the machete in the living room of the home.
Hildebrant fled the home prior to the deputy’s arrival. A second deputy spotted her 2017 Audi SUV on SE Hwy. 42 and initiated a traffic stop. Hildebrant claimed her man friend struck her. She said she was on her way to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office substation to report the incident. She denied being in possession of a machete.
Was he hiding in a bush or from her bush?

That’s a weird thing to brag about.

Thai man suffers from swollen penis after attempting to enlarge it by having ants bite it
A Thai man chose an unusual way to enlarge his manhood — by having it bitten by ants.
While it was unclear why the unidentified man decided to seek out help from ants rather than going to a doctor, the man ended up with a swollen penis instead, The Thaiger reported.
According to the portal, the man’s experiment came to light after two videos of him undertaking the procedure went viral on Thai social media.
In the videos, the man was initially successful in getting ants on his sex organ after he placed it in an ants’ nest but when the insects started biting the organ, the man struggled to brush it off.
He also tried rinsing his penis with water in an attempt to get the ants off.
Approached for comments on the man’s bizarre method, Dr Sorranai Onwan said employing ants to enlarge a penis was wrong and ineffective.
Dr Sorranai, who operates an aesthetic clinic in the northern province of Chiang Mai, added that ant bites can be life-threatening for individuals with allergies.
It may also lead to dermatitis or further infections, he said.

Dogwood Pool forced to close several times Thursday because of poop accidents
The Dogwood Pool was forced to close several times Thursday after swimmers pooped in the pool.
The public pool was reportedly shut down four separate times.
“Yes, this does unfortunately happen from time to time,” said Brandon Bussey, director of marketing and communications for the YMCA of Central Stark County, which operates the city-owned pool. “However, we have a standard procedure that all staff are aware of and follow to clean and disinfect the pool to make sure it is always safe to reopen.”
The 15,000-square-foot pool is at 241 Seventh St. NE. Pool workers on Thursday referred questions to the YMCA administration.
Believe it or not, it wasn’t the only Northeast Ohio pool to close multiple times this week because of an accident. WOIO (Channel 19) in Cleveland reported that the Purvis Park Pool in University Heights had to close three times Wednesday after young children pooped in the pool.
It’s also not unusual to find fecal matter in pools. A 2013 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found evidence of feces in more than half of the pools surveyed in Atlanta.

Why ghastly video of man urinating on a tribal kicked up a political storm in MP
On the afternoon of July 4, a disturbing video of a man urinating on another went viral. The undated video was purportedly from Sidhi in northeastern Madhya Pradesh and showed the alleged perpetrator—cigarette in one hand—swaying while in the act and the victim not resisting.
A few hours later, the victim was claimed to be Dashmat Rawat, 36, a member of the Kol tribal community, and the man allegedly peeing on him as Pravesh Shukla, 30, a Brahmin. The police arrested Shukla and booked him under Sections 294 (obscene act in public) and 504 (breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
But open defecation is completely legal in India.

Restaurant closed amid meth in food allegations
A Florida panhandle restaurant closed after an investigation into alleged illegal drugs put into customers’ food.
“Today, a family owned and operated business is closed, 20 employees are out of work, all because of the power of social media,” Nikko Japanese Steakhouse said in a social media post. “We have been brutally harassed, daily, by various media outlets, who have slandered and defamed every aspect of our business.”
Seven people tested positive for illegal narcotics last month after apparently dining at the Pace, Florida restaurant, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and an attorney claiming at least three tested positive for methamphetamine.
Investigators could not tie the restaurant to drugs, but a state regulatory agency said it discovered dozens of health violations at Nikko’s.

Man arrested for drunk canoeing on Christina Lake, say police
Police officers in Grand Forks, B.C., say they arrested a man for canoeing while intoxicated.
The incident happened in the early afternoon of June 29 on Christina Lake in B.C.’s southeastern Interior.
Under federal law, the same impairment rules that apply to driving also apply to boating: it’s illegal to operate or control a vessel while impaired by alcohol or with a blood alcohol level of more than .08.
In a statement, Grand Forks RCMP say they were called to the lake after someone reported an intoxicated man in a canoe. With the help of Christina Lake Fire Department’s boat, RCMP say they went out onto the water and “made contact” with the 51-year-old local man, but he refused to comply with their directions.
“The man eventually made his way to a dock and hid under there for several minutes, again refusing to comply,” reads the RCMP statement.
After several minutes, police say an officer got into the water and brought him out.
He was then taken into custody and transported to the RCMP’s Grand Forks detachment where he was “investigated for impaired operation” of a boat, say police.
Is this the most Canadian story ever, or what?
