Here’s one signal your mayoral race is going badly… you don’t know when Election Day is even though the date is written big-as-life on your campaign posters.

Why Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee—arguably the dumbest member of the U.S. House—would run for mayor, except that Karen Bass did it and if she could do it, why not? Hillary Clinton endorsed SJL and so did a cluster of other brain-dead communists/globalists who all were apparently determined to bring Houston to certain ruin.
Also, SJL said things like this:
When the Houston Chronicle asked her why she was running, she replied, among other things, that, ‘I have been a leader in human and sex trafficking.’
What? A Freudian slip, wishful thinking, or pure delusion?
As a counterpoint, SJL did not know when Election Day is. And the results showed it. While the full election totals are not yet in, she most certainly lost. Current estimates are that she lost by 65% to 34%. Translation: Her opponent, John Whitmire, garnered nearly twice as many votes as SJL did.
No amount of burst water pipes or found boxes of ballots are going to compete against these numbers. Typically, voter fraud has a margin. Competing against political machines that use voter fraud requires beating the margin of voter fraud. And it is doable.
But as much as We the People mock Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, she likely is going to have the last laugh. Follow the money:
More than half a dozen people or companies gave contributions to Jackson Lee that exceed the city’s legal limit and one donation wrongly was attributed to a dead woman.
Jackson Lee’s report says she collected $1.2 million and spent $182,000 to close her first reporting period with a little more than $1 million in cash on hand. Subtracting the illegal contributions, Jackson Lee’s cash on hand would dip from seven to six figures.
SJL continued to raise money, including an additional $600,000, and then spent only $60,000 on ads during the runoff.
Sure, SJL lost the election, but provided she is smart enough to realize what she has done Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is having the last laugh.
