During a White House meeting with Senators in January 2018, President Trump reportedly questioned the reasoning for allowing immigration from “shithole countries” such as Haiti. This triggered the pearl-clutching mainstream media with charges of racism.

No doubt, today Haiti is a shithole country. It is a failed nation in a state of emergency, becoming a dangerous power vacuum in the Caribbean. Awash in violence and chaos, the country is run by a heavily armed gang whose soon-to-resign messianic leader Jimmy Cherizier is grotesquely and justifiably nicknamed “Barbeque.”
Yes, reports of cannibalism have surfaced amid the current chaos, including videos on social media showing at least one gang member gnawing on a human leg from a burning corpse.
An anonymous journalist on the ground told The Daily Express:
We have seen images of gang leaders eating people they have killed. We have seen images of people being tortured when they are kidnapped.
As Horowitz Freedom Center Shillman Fellow Daniel Greenfield noted:
Haiti is a failed state because it lacks a legitimate government or a functional society.
Haiti’s police force is barely distinguishable from the murderous gangs it is supposed to control.
The police there actually spawned “Barbeque” Cherizier, who has orchestrated a number of massacres of the Haitian people.
Predictably, left-wing elites blame Haiti’s long history of anarchy and corruption on European-driven slavery and colonialism. But as author Rod Dreher noted recently:
[A] government minister told journalist Robert D. Kaplan in 1994 that the widespread Haitian practice of voodoo—a polytheistic folk religion derived from West African animism, with no central authority or institutional structure—is the central fact explaining their country’s chronic misery.
Dreher continued:
If people within a social order believe they have no real moral agency, and that their fate lies in the hands not of a God of reason and justice, but of an irrational spirit with a mercurial will, then it will be hard to build ordered social structures and ways of life.
Further:
Haitian Protestants say the country’s founders brought a curse on Haiti by consecrating it to demons in the slave revolt that sparked the Haitian Revolution… that eventually overturned despotic French colonial rule in 1791.
The point being, states succeed or fail because of the cultural beliefs and practices that underlie them.
Those beliefs and practices either empower the people to achieve community, freedom, and prosperity, or keep the people mired in fragmentation, savagery, and poverty.
Haiti is a failure not because of Western rule that ended over 200 years ago but because it lacks the elevating values and practices that propelled Western civilization to greatness.
Now the open-border globalists of the Left are salivating over the prospect of a mass exodus of potential communist/globalist voters from Haiti fleeing the war zone.
And just last Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that state law enforcement had intercepted a vessel coming to the coast carrying dozens of Haitian illegals, as well as firearms, drugs and—interestingly—night vision gear.
No doubt, a mass influx from Haiti will bring more social instability and disorder to America. And this is exactly what the Obama/Biden Left wants.
NOTE: America is a country whose Founders, Constitution, Judeo-Christian values, and capitalist prosperity are deeply resented by The Left. The colluding mass propaganda media condemned President Trump’s remark about Haiti in 2018, but today they seem to be welcoming “shithole” status for America.
The signs of civilizational degeneration are legion.
Last week a video capturing a teenage brawl in Missouri went viral; in it, one girl is seen savagely beating another, including pounding her head on concrete, in a clear attempt to kill her.
As usual, none of the other youths bother to intervene—they are too busy recording the sickening violence on their cell phones to be shared on social media. As of this writing, the victim, who is white, clings to life in a coma.
Incidents of subhuman brutality and mob voyeurism like this are shamefully routine in America now, because civilization is breaking down.

The civilizational breakdown of America may also be noted in the moniker of the Alphabet Sex People, now expanded to encompass and demand unquestioned celebration of every perversion imaginable.
As quickly as a large enough minority agreed to their pronoun demand “as a kindness” to those suffering from gender dysphoria, the mentally ill moved the goalpost.
Unsurprisingly, their goal has been our full uncritical submission. And even before receiving that they began to indoctrinate our children about the nature of human sexuality: that a person’s gender is assigned.
Consider also the way “environmentalism” has morphed into “climate crisis” ideology. Decades ago, we were reasonably encouraged to “put litter in its place,” which is the best way to leave a clean and beautiful world for our children. Regulations that protected land and water from industrial pollution were readily supported in the interest of both human health and environmental preservation. But when Leftist ideologues—who demand political control—overtook the environmental sphere, the purpose of the environmental movement shifted.
What had been our obligation to future generations is no longer about human well-being at all. The rabid form of ideologically crazed environmentalism now being taught to our children despises humanity as a freakishly overgrown, invasive species that must be forcibly contained by central authorities for the preservation of the planet.
The easily debunked but virtually unchallenged narrative that humans are causing a global climate crisis has completely eclipsed not only long-discovered science on Earth’s pattern of climate change long preceding human industrial activity but, dangerously, the practice of scientific inquiry itself. Ideology, rather than reason, is now driving energy and other economic policy on a global scale.
We went from defending the civil rights of each person against racist discrimination in education, housing, and employment to a demand that every housing, education, credit, and employment decision be guided first by the recognized faction (racial, sexual, economic, and ‘identity’) to which the applicant belongs.
DEI selection criteria demand that factional consideration precede any factor over which the applicant has control, thereby stripping empowerment from the individual.
The doctrine elevates “diversity” to a primary objective, thereby sidelining both the individual’s pursuit of merit and the organization’s pursuit of its own primary purpose. The result is dysfunction—entire industries are corrupted by tremendous pressure to prioritize DEI selection criteria. Airlines are more concerned with putting a “woman of color,” for instance, in the pilot’s seat than in the demonstrated skills of the applicant. Medical schools are being pressured to select applicants who can claim membership in favored factions rather than in their accomplishments and aptitude.
Soon, dissent will risk much more than ridicule—even talk of dissent will cost people their lives. As we can see with the J6 political prisoners and others who are persecuted for standing against The Regime.
History has proven that prosperity results in degeneracy among many in the generations that enjoy it. As a result, they lack the character, conviction, or strength required to preserve the ordered liberty that produced prosperity.

The good news is there are enough of us who are aware that we have a choice and can make a difference. We can arrest our society’s decline by courageously rejecting the lies on which Leftism thrives and actively dismantling both the policies and the politics of zealotry.
