South Carolina Governor Signs New Gun Law in Ceremonial Bill Signing

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster hosted a ceremony Tuesday spotlighting a new law that allows any adult who can legally own a gun to carry it openly without a permit.

This from msn.com.

According to reports, the Governor signed the bill into law as soon as it reached his desk. He also signed the permit allowing open carry.

And as a result, gun owners in South Carolina are now entirely uninfringed.

Tuesday’s Statehouse event was the culmination of a lot of hard work combatting the ideas of those who are unable to see the importance of the Second Amendment.

The Republican governor stated:

This is a happy day. It’s a good step forward.

The new law will change several things, including how police perform their jobs. Guns can now be anywhere inside a vehicle, whether observable or hidden.

Of course, when approached and questioned by a police officer for whatever reason, anyone possessing a weapon—whether concealed or open—must inform the officer they have the firearm.

Concealed weapons permits are still available, and the bill makes the training free across the state. The 46 counties of South Carolina will be required to identify the funds—$4 to $5 million—to provide the classes.

Encouraging the training that those classes will provide was one of the biggest obstacles to passing the new law. Many police departments and some lawmakers who usually support fewer restrictions on guns thought that people still need to acquire training before they should be able to carry a weapon in public.

The law also allows anyone ages 18 to 20 who does not have a felony conviction or other legal problem to carry a gun. The old concealed weapons law had set the minimum age to own a gun at 21.

Republican State Sen. Shane Martin who supported the bill through the Senate stated:

The Constitution doesn’t specify the age.

Whether you like it or not, those 18, 19, 20 year-olds should be eligible.

This new law’s signing is a significant affirmation for the Second Amendment.

And it is an appropriate response to gun control advocates, who having misidentified the problem, as liberals often do, see the nation-wide increasing gun violence as rationale for their strong push for stricter gun laws and taking guns away from law-abiding citizens.

Final thoughts: For the sake of comparison, please note this article came from msn, a liberal biased source of mis-information.

The original wording included the following phraseology: “[the] damage this [law] could amount to,” “Officers have lost the right to stop someone who is just carrying a gun,” “Budget writers will have to set aside $4 to $5 million to provide the [training] classes,” “…a big win for gun lovers, “[despite] increasing gun violence…” “…a haven for gun owners,” and last but not least the Big Lie:

However, a study has shown that states that don’t have strict firearm laws often have high rates of gun crimes. On the other hand, states that have strict gun laws enjoy more relative peace.

God speed to Conservatism and to the Take Back of our Constitutional Republic.
