Political appointees openly saying they object to a company and will block its activities because its leader supports the other party is banana republic behavior. And such behavior is corruption that fundamentally disqualifies a state as a place to do business. The world too is learning this about California and similar locales. Imagine the tax dollars being diverted from California as a result of their radical liberalism!
The California Coastal Commission—which like most state commissions, is packed full of communist/globalist apparatchiks with no apparent skills—announced it would block SpaceX launches from Vandenberg Air Force Base because…politics.
Commissioner Gretchen Newsom said at the meeting in San Diego:
Elon Musk is hopping about the country, spewing and tweeting political falsehoods and attacking FEMA while claiming his desire to help the hurricane victims with free Starlink access to the internet.
Who the Hell is Gretchen Newsom and who put her in charge of anything?
Gretchen Newsom (no relation to [Comrade] Gavin) tried to run for San Diego mayor, she went from student government to working for assorted political campaigns and offices and then became a political organizer for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (you’re not supposed to use the full name anymore because it has ‘Brotherhood’ in it.)
Suffice it to say Gretchen is a typical political swamp creature who has accomplished nothing in her life except gobbling up public money. And in California, that gives her the power to block space launches.
What that means is California is being held hostage—like Russia in the 1980s—where our space program is hobbled by political commissars.
Commission Chair Caryl Hart whined:
Were we’re dealing with a company, the head of which has aggressively injected himself into the presidential race.
Caryl Hart is a professional ‘environmentalist’ with a law degree. All of this has qualified her for board memberships at various environmental groups and once served as the director of the Northern California Railroad Authority. Her pronouns are ‘she/her’.
These are the completely useless people
who have run the state into the ground.
California has been bled dry and it has little to offer anyone who is not on welfare or connected to the communist/globalist crime syndicate—and as the tax base dwindles, these parasites too will be forced to seek new hosts.
California exists to be robbed and stripped down to the core for a class of otherwise useless activists and their pet causes.
And apparently, in California political incorrectness is a turnoff for space travel. Which is a shame too considering all the space cadets in California.
