Dementia Joe—to the shock of some but not all—Sunday night pardoned his disgraced son, Hunter.
And recall, Joe did this despite repeatedly claiming he would not pardon Hunter. Indeed, Joe was saying this as recently as June.
This from thepatriotjournal.com.
Imagine, Hunter’s pardon may have given him the impression his problems are now over.
Unfortunately for Hunter, however, this is not the case at all. Much to Hunter’s dismay, he has been hit with a Fifth Amendment bombshell that he likely never saw coming.
Hunter was in a ‘damned if he does,
damned if he doesn’t’ situation.
Criminal defense attorney, Kevin Adams, responded to Hunter’s pardon by pointing out that it opens the door for Congress to call him as a witness. No exaggeration!
[T]his is the stuff that Hunter’s nightmares are made of.
From Newsweek:
Adams wrote on X that Hunter can no longer refuse to answer questions before Congress. That is because the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects people from having to answer questions before Congress if it could help a prosecution case against them or compel them to make self-incriminating statements.
With Hunter now free from all his criminal cases, he cannot use the Fifth Amendment to refuse to answer questions.
Adams wrote:
The upside to Joe Biden’s pardon is that Hunter Biden no longer enjoys the right to assert his 5th Amendment Right against self incrimination, and contempt of Congress is also a crime.
This came after Joe pardoned Hunter. Indeed, the pardon applies to any crimes that Hunter may have committed from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024.
Joe said:
Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter.
From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.
Joe went on to claim that Hunter was “treated differently” by prosecutors.
Further:
Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form.
And:
Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.
President-elect Donald Trump fired back through his communications director, Steven Cheung, who said:
[T]he failed witch hunts against President Trump have proved that the Democrat-controlled DOJ [Department of Justice] and other radical prosecutors are guilty of weaponizing the justice system.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) responded to the pardon by indicating:
Hunter could be called before Congress to testify as Republicans consider impeaching Joe based on his shady business dealings involving his son.
Further:
Democrats said there was nothing to our impeachment inquiry. If that’s the case, why did Joe Biden just issue Hunter Biden a pardon for the very things we were inquiring about?
We the People would certainly like to know the answer to that question as well!
Final thoughts: In the end, Joe’s pardon of Hunter lays open the entire Biden Crime Family, Obama, Big Hill Clinton, Comey, etc., etc. to prosecution with Hunter as the star witness, along with his laptop, the Epstein materials, and various and sundry other items.
Here’s hoping this blows up in their faces, and they receive the karma they deserve!
