Opinion: Leftists Killed Los Angeles and No One Out There in Power Cares

The horror that hit Los Angeles is something we have not seen since Mrs. O’Leary’s cow kicked over that lantern in 1871.

Back then, Chicago burned to the ground and roughly 300 people died.

This from townhall.com.

The Great Chicago Fire, however, makes sense in a weird way. Wood and brick were the building materials of choice back then, and wood burns wildly. There were no zoning laws; buildings were clustered together because “traffic” was horses. Go to any old town’s “historic district,” and find “roads” or alleys where you can nearly touch buildings on both sides. When fire hit one house, it risked wiping out the block or the entire section of town for those very reasons.

But Los Angeles is not a densely clustered town of swinging-door saloons and rickety wooden buildings; it is a heavily regulated, sprawling metropolis with millions upon millions of people. There is more money in the greater Los Angeles area than most countries in Africa and South America.

“Modern” is an understatement to describe LA. All the modern architecture and “smart homes” wired for the digital age were wiped out by a lack of water—something the ancient Romans mastered with a mortarless aqueduct system 2000 years ago.

California does not lack water; it lacks the will to move water to where it is needed. Los Angeles is a desert. Irrigation greened it and Hollywood grew it. And now, the Left has destroyed it. Actually, the natural result of their lunatic policies did that. Rather than put in place whatever is necessary to safeguard the lives and property of its citizens, the liberals in California were busy congratulating themselves for the social-life-style-choice squares filled by the people they hired to administer the city.

LA’s Fire Chief, Kristin Crowley—prior to the current disaster—had an impressive resume but given the way no one talked about it when she was hired for the job, one question that is now obvious was whether it was the most impressive resume or just impressive enough for a gay woman to satisfy the DEI Gods.

Janisse Quiñones, the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, has overseen the failure of the water supply and her incompetent leadership may well be the most responsible aspect of this disaster. “She is paid three-quarters of a million dollars per year to…check DEI boxes.”

Before her incompetence helped destroy the city, Quiñones said:

It’s important to me that everything we do is with an equity lens and social justice and making sure that we right the wrongs that we’ve done in the past.

Mayor Karen Bass was the first black woman to be mayor of Los Angeles. Until her inability to do the job cost lives and tens of billions of dollars in damages, she was celebrated for existing. That is what Leftists do—they elevate and celebrate people who exist while ignoring what they do or what they cannot do.

Bass cut the Fire Department budget, rebuked the Fire Chief for criticizing management, shuttered SIXTEEN Fire Stations, [and] placed DEI incompetence in charge of a critical water storage reservoir that has been offline for over a year.

Tragically, liberalism has operated as an absolute majority in Los Angeles County for the last forty years. And like glove in hand, with liberalism comes failure in the governing structure. Of course, too, as the governing structure fails, chaotic crisis management arises.

Recall, Rahm Emanuel, chief of staff to Barack Hussein Obama, told a Wall Street Journal forum in 2008:

You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.

Is this not the mantra of the Leftist communist/globalist crime syndicate—utilizing crises for their manipulative gaming of the nation? Below is a quick list of Leftists using the recent wildfires to game their positions (many more could be added):

Bernie Sanders Blames Raging California Wildfires on Climate Change

– Barbra Streisand: Winds Pushing Los Angeles Wildfires Are ‘Due to Climate Change’

– Hollywood director Jim Jarmusch blame the raging fires on “climate deniers,” demanding that people stop viewing “woke” as “a negative thing.” Note: Is it not interesting that PC “woke” requires DEMS to follow their handlers regarding the imagined “climate change?” and

– Democrat Pramila Jayapal Blames Fires on Corporations Ignoring ‘Reality of Climate Change’

Those wearing the Democrat Party Brand refuse to confess their foolish positions. It is easier to play the blame game than to admit wrong and correct their directions.

General Mike Flynn may have described the Left best when he summed up their inability to prepare for and preclude disaster:

[W]e have now had catastrophic disasters in HI, NC, & CA. All 3 states are led by Democrat Governors who have diverted critical funding from Essential Lifeline Mitigation measures; didn’t adequately warn their residents in NC; and along with Joe Biden’s pathetic FEMA responses, failed to respond in mass… they never hold themselves accountable for their malice that causes the destruction of so many lives of our fellow Americans and all their life’s treasures.

In conclusion, two blunt comments that place the Democrat Party Brand in proper light:

We pay the highest taxes in California. Our fire hydrants were empty. Our vegetation was overgrown, brush not cleared. Our reservoirs were emptied by our governor because tribal leaders wanted to save fish. Our fire department budget was cut by our mayor. But thank god drug addicts are getting their drug kits.

And:

[I]f it is true that things were handled this way, if it is true then Gavin Newsom is the absolute blithering idiot that I believe he is in the way… This isn’t a wake-up call… This is the kind of thing they have tribunals for.
