For years, the coastal elites have been telling us that “free trade” means letting China walk all over American workers while flooding our communities with dangerous drugs.
They said there was nothing we could do about it—just accept the “new normal” of shuttered factories and devastated families.
But if there is one thing President Trump has proven time and time again, it is that the so-called experts do not know everything. And now, in 2025, he is preparing to teach them another lesson in putting America First.
In a bold move that has Wall Street scrambling and Beijing sweating, Trump announced plans to impose a 10% tariff on Chinese imports starting February 1st, 2025.
The decision, announced at the White House following his historic second inauguration, specifically targets China’s role in the devastating fentanyl crisis plaguing American communities.
The numbers TELL THE STORY, and they are shocking:
Over 107,000 Americans died from overdoses in 2023, with fentanyl leading as the number one killer of Americans aged 18-45.
According to a damning House Select Committee report released in 2024:
China [is] the ultimate geographic source of this crisis,
with Chinese companies
serving as the main producers of fentanyl precursors.
Highlighting Beijing’s empty promises, Trump stated:
Representatives of China told me that they would institute their maximum penalty, that of death, for any drug dealers caught doing this but, unfortunately, they never followed through.
While Chinese officials make hollow pledges about cooperation, their actions tell a different story.
The House report revealed:
[R]ather than investigating drug traffickers, Chinese security services have actually been tipping off targets of U.S. investigations.
How’s that for cooperation?
The new tariffs are not just about economics—they are about national security and American lives.

Right on cue, communists/globalists are having their predictable meltdown. Rep. Suzan DelBene (C/G-WA) claimed the tariffs would “drive up costs at home and likely send our economy into recession.” This same lame tune has been screamed by the Left before.
Meanwhile, China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning weakly protested that “there are no winners in a trade war.”
Perhaps Beijing should have considered that before flooding our streets with deadly drugs.
The creation of the new “External Revenue Service” ensures this time America has the tools to enforce fair trade practices.
