The Obiden Regime’s open border kabuki theater required pretending the mass invasion was beyond its control to rein in, all the while vigorously fighting any state action in court.
After Arizona fell into leftist hands, the Regime’s efforts involved an extended legal battle to block Texas from protecting its border.
This from frontpagemag.com.
But now the Trump administration in office intends to close and secure the border. And Texas will be allowed to become involved.
The Texas National Guard will now be able not only to secure the border, but also to detain border invaders.
[T]his is important beyond the moment because it also creates an important precedent about the rights of states to secure their own borders.
Unfortunately, the agreement requires the Texas Guard to operate under the authority of CBP, and while there are good operational and legal reasons for that, it would be more worthwhile to provide for a full precedent empowering states to police borders and stop invaders from coming through.
The year 2028 may seem like a long time away and everyone is still flying high, but politics can change very quickly.
Imagine in 2029 President Gavin Newsom (not likely) or President Pete Buttigieg (even less likely) decide to open the border again, Texas having been granted full precedent to police its own border would be critically important rather than having to rely on the temporary authority of a Republican White House.
Final thoughts: One step at a time. And God speed to the great state of Texas.
