At issue here is the amazing success of Elon Musk as a “special government employee.” And as an SGE, Musk has been granted a special designation that allows him to serve on boards and advisories without the requirement that he make the public disclosures of a regular government worker—including about his finances.
Correct, Musk was not elected by We the People, rather he was appointed by our Commander in Chief as an executive branch appointee named to “perform important, but limited, services to the government, with or without compensation, for a period not to exceed 130 days during a one-year period.”
But, for the Left, Musk’s success has become a huge problem and their only apparent avenue of attack is Musk not being elected. The communist/globalist crime syndicate have become unified in their vocal protesting of what they call an ‘executive power grab’ and decisions being made by a small group of unelected officials, which is exactly how they had been running things until a few weeks ago.
The political theater of [Leftist] House members protesting, storming into offices and filming themselves yelling about accountability to voters in TikTok videos is impossible to take seriously.
No, no one “elected Elon Musk,” but who the hell elected the far more massive federal bureaucracy which interprets legislation however it pleases?
The same [communists/globalists] whining about unelected officials who are not accountable to voters were throwing themselves in front of a bus to protest against the Supreme Court overturning Chevron deference whose premise is that bureaucrats should be able to make laws.
We the People were told that getting rid of Chevron deference would undermine federal agencies. House leftists are not protesting in support of legislative authority, but in support of that same vast unaccountable bureaucracy and its vast endless powers.
Unelected officials making decisions is a problem for the Left only when it is not their unelected officials making the decisions.
