Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The ‘Speed of Trump’ continues.

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

1. Trump Administration Launches Probe into Maine’s Transgender Sports Participation Policy

At a meeting of governors at the White House late last week, President Trump touted his executive order that barred transgender students from competing in women’s sports and the effect it has had on the NCAA.

Soon after he threatened Maine’s federal funding and singled out Maine Gov. Janet Mills, a communist/globalist, and her state’s policies after she refused to say whether she would comply with his order.

“See you in court,” Mills retorted.

The President said he looked forward to seeing the governor in court.

He added:

That should be a real easy one.

And further stated:

And enjoy your life after governor because I don’t think you’ll be in elected politics.

Trump added, eliciting a spattering of quiet laughter.

2. John Brennan Whines About Being on Kash Patel’s ‘Enemies List’ and It’s GLORIOUS (VIDEO)

This is not a list of enemies, rather a list of bad actors in the federal government who must be investigated.

Brennan called it an enemies list, not Kash, likely because that is how his communist brain works. Anyone who disagrees with him is an enemy.

Nervous much? He should be.

Uphold tradition? Yes, certainly.

Definitely on the right track.

They never thought they would get caught.

3. New FBI Director Kash Patel Will Also be Named Acting Head of the ATF

Patel could be sworn in next week, the official said, putting Patel in charge of two of the Justice Department’s largest agencies in an unusual arrangement that raises questions about the future of the bureau that has long drawn the ire of conservatives.

The news comes days after Attorney General Pam Bondi fired the ATF’s top lawyer.

Bondi said in a Fox News interview Friday that she fired chief counsel Pamela Hicks because the agency was “targeting gun owners.”

4. NPS Staffers Hang Upside Down Flag in Yosemite to Protest Firings—Receive Unexpected Reaction

Firings in the National Park Service and some employees took the time to hang a flag upside down off El Capitan.

Instead of receiving the response for which they hoped, they were treated to a glaring example of exactly why things need to be reformed.

The reaction to this on X was largely along the lines of, “Your actions suggest you should have been fired long before now.”

Some on X asked if any of this was being done on the taxpayer dime, and noted that if it was, the staffers proved they were non-essential.

America is over 35 trillion in debt and needs to get its house in order. We have needed someone to come in with an axe for some time, to care about spending and get things under control. In the private sector, no one has a guaranteed job, but somehow people in the federal government seem to think they do.

5. BOOM! – 1,200 Employees FIRED from NIH

The National Institutes of Health, headquartered in Bethesda MD, has lost nearly 1,200 employees in another round of federal worker firings.

 The NIH email stated:

Unfortunately, the agency finds that you are not fit for continued employment because your ability, knowledge and skills do not fit the agency’s current needs and your performance has not been adequate to justify further employment at the agency.

The email further stated the recipients have a right to appeal within 30 days.

Well done RFK Jr and President Trump!

6. BOOM: DOGE Has Put Kibosh on Nearly $70M of Biden Cash Going to Lefty Groups

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency teamed up with the DOGE to put the kibosh on more than $67 million in grant money once earmarked to push Joe Biden’s “environmental justice” mandate.

The EPA and the Elon Musk-led DOGE this week flagged 21 grants totaling $77.1 million previously awarded to 20 lefty nonprofits and universities, and the Trump administration will withhold $67.4 million in payments yet to be made, officials said.

The biggest loser is Vermont-based Institute of Sustainable Communities, which has yet to receive $12.4 million of the $16 million it was promised under two separate Biden-era grants to serve as a “National Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center.”

The Biden administration created three such national centers as part of its Justice40 Initiative requiring 40% of the “overall benefits” of most environmental and infrastructure programs to “flow to disadvantaged communities,” including Native American tribes. Another 18 regional centers were also created.

Other groups were also on the losing end.

It’s unclear what will happen to the centers without the funding.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin hailed his agency and DOGE’s actions as:

[Another example of] wasteful spending end[ing] with the Trump Administration.

7. Musk Has Said Federal Worker Email Meant to Spot ‘Outright Fraud’

Musk said early Sunday he already received “a large number of good responses” to the email and suggested “these are the people who should be considered for promotion.”

He explained the email to government workers was meant to spot “outright fraud” from people on the payroll who are not working at all.

Musk wrote on his social platform X, responding to a post about the email:

The reason this matters is that a significant number of people who are supposed to be working for the government are doing so little work that they are not checking their email at all!

8. Trump Administration Eliminating 2,000 Posts at USAID and Putting Most Others on Leave

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols had denied a legal effort from employees to continue the temporary stay on the administration’s plan to phase out the agency.

According to the AP, notices sent to employees read:

As of 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, February 23, 2025, all USAID direct hire personnel, with the exception of designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership and/or specially designated programs, will be placed on administrative leave globally.

Good riddance.
