Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

1. House Voted to End the Obiden Restrictions on Refrigerators and Freezers

Both resolutions passed through the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to overturn a recent federal regulation with a simple majority. The Senate still needs to vote on reversing the refrigerator standards, which were finalized at the end of the Obiden Regime.

The House voted 214-192 to overturn energy efficiency regulations for commercial refrigerators and freezers.

Representatives also voted 203 to 182 to get rid of energy regulations on walk-in freezers and coolers.

Republicans say the regulations would make products more expensive while limiting choice for consumers.

Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-OK), who sponsored the bill on walk-in coolers and freezers, said:

Today, House Republicans acted to overturn more last-minute environmental regulations from [The Obiden Regime].

Further:

Walk-in coolers and freezers are essential for pharmacies, convenience stores, food processing facilities, food banks, restaurants, and many other establishments nationwide.

Also, this week, Energy Secretary Chris Wright postponed a trio of energy standards for home appliances, including walk-in coolers and freezers.

He said:

By removing burdensome regulations put in place by [The Obiden Regime], we are returning freedom of choice to the American people, ensuring consumers can choose the home appliances that work best for their lives and budgets.

Further, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has proposed a bill in the Senate to overturn the Obiden ban on gas-powered, non-condensing tankless heaters.

These heaters are typically cheaper to buy but less energy-efficient than other models.

2. President Trump Secured the Border for Only 0.2% of the Cost of the Border Crisis

The Left-colluding propaganda mass media has long hyped the cost of securing our southern border, all the while having refused to report any discussion concerning the astronomical cost of open borders.

From ABC News:

Southwest border mission has cost $330M so far—with over $40M for Guantanamo Bay alone.

Assuming those numbers from a rag liberal fabricator of fake news are anywhere close to being accurate, consider the cost of the border crisis in total:

The House Budget Committee estimated the cost of the crisis at $150 billion. Others put it at $200 billion or even higher.

NOTE: $330 million is approximately 0.2% of $150 billion.

Some estimates set the annual cost of the illegal alien invasion at $150 billion as well.

To put that $330 million into context, under Obama-Biden, DHS allocated $380 million for migrant-infested areas through FEMA in August 2024.

To review: America is spending a fraction on an ounce of prevention to secure the border.

The media hypes the cost of securing the border, but refuses to discuss the cost of open borders.

And this does not factor in the death and misery of American citizens as well as the death and misery of the people coming across the border—all caused by the Obama-Biden alien invasion.

3. Smuggling Illegal Aliens Out of the U.S. Has Become a Lucrative Business During the Trump Admin

Many illegal aliens are facing the possibility of being sent to prison in Central America, so millions are self-deporting. They are using coyotes to get them back over the border, which has turned into a lucrative business.

Jeff Lamour, a Haitian American businessman in Albertville, told 1819 News that smugglers are charging illegals as much as $10,000 per person to transport them across the border. He explained that many can afford the fee because they have been saving money from their jobs in the U.S.

This self-deporting industry with the coyotes has become a multi-million dollar industry.

You got those guys that are going from Indiana, from Alabama, in those vans where they’re smuggling people to New Mexico, to border states. They’re making a ton of money. If they go deposit money at the bank, it’s going to raise a red flag.

You know, I had a gentleman a couple days ago trying to buy a car with cash, straight cash. He just don’t know what to do with it because he has a lot of cash from the shuttle industry.

Lamour also explained that many illegal immigrants, specifically Haitians, are going into hiding and selling their vehicles to avoid interaction with local authorities. He also criticized the Biden’s policies, particularly the parole program, which he called a “Biden scam program.” It allowed companies to pay lower wages. And he said:

[I]t’s understandable for people to feel uneasy when illegals crowd into neighborhoods, especially when they live near expensive homes.

4. Employees at US Institute of Peace Notified of MASS FIRINGS on Friday Night

Most employees at a congressionally created and funded think tank which has been taken over by DOGE received email notices of their mass firing.

Most staff members had lost access to the organization’s system, so emails were sent to their personal accounts beginning approximately 9 p.m. Friday.

One former senior official at the institute said among those spared were several in the human resources department and a handful of overseas staffers who have until April 9 to return to the United States. The organization had apprximately 300 people.

Others retained for now are regional vice presidents who will be working with the staff in their areas to return to the U.S., according to one employee who was affected.

An executive order last month from President Donald Trump targeted the organization, which seeks to prevent and resolve conflicts. Contrarily, there was a standoff between employees who blocked DOGE members from entering the institute’s headquarters. DOGE staff gained access in part with the help of the Washington police.

5. President Trump Trolled the Propaganda Media Again with 2028 Hints

Trump did not rule out the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House, which is prohibited by the Constitution under the 22nd Amendment, having said in an exclusive interview with NBC News there are methods for doing so.

When asked whether he wanted another term, the president responded, “I like working.”

Further:

I’m not joking. But I’m not—it is far too early to think about it.

And when asked about plans to seek a third term, Trump said:

There are methods which you could do it.

Asked to share another method, Trump simply responded “no.”

That’s a pretty clear non-answer.

6. President Trump Said He Is ‘Very Angry’ With Putin, Threatened Tariffs

In a Sunday morning interview with NBC News, the president threatened a 25% tariff on Russian oil if a ceasefire deal cannot be reached.

He told NBC News:

If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault—which it might not be—but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia.

Further:

That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States. There will be a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil.

Putin on Friday called for a presidential election in Ukraine and then “begin negotiations” on a “peace agreement.”

Trump said Putin knows he is angry but that “the anger dissipates quickly … if he does the right thing.”
