Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

1. President Trump’s Tariff Pause Is Not a Mystery–It Is the Successful Completion of His Strategy

The original order clearly stated countries could earn a reprieve if they agreed to better terms for America.

President Trump’s sudden decision to pause the tariffs—first imposed between April 2 and 9, 2025, in the amount of 10% or more—has drawn sharp criticism from the same media outlets that initially opposed the tariffs themselves.

Now that the president has suspended most of them for 90 days, commentators are calling the move everything from “mysterious,” to “weak,” to “nefarious.” But if they were not able to piss and moan, they’d be without words entirely.

Putting aside their trash talk the propaganda media has settled on three main theories for why Trump paused the tariffs:

 – First, they point to market turmoil: the S&P 500 dropped in the days after the tariffs were announced, then jumped 9.5% after the pause, leading some to suggest Trump was panicked by the market’s reaction,

 – Second, they cite the bond market: yields on the 10-year Treasury spiked to 4.45%, raising fears of inflation and recession, which they say pressured the administration into backtracking, and

 – Third, they point to international and corporate pressure: over 75 countries expressed interest in negotiating trade terms with the United States, while business leaders, including JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, warned that unchecked tariffs could trigger a global economic slowdown.

Of the three, only the last holds water—and the April 2 executive order clearly stated the tariffs were never meant to be permanent.

2. Kash Patel’s FBI Suspends Deep State Operative Brian Auten—Analyst Who Pushed Trump-Russia Hoax, Discredited Hunter Biden Scandal, and Was Behind Mar-a-Lago Raid

Sources familiar with the matter told the New York Times Auten was placed on administrative leave last week.

Auten’s suspension comes after years of public outcry over his corrupt misconduct inside the Bureau, which turned the FBI into an arm of the democrat party Leftist crime syndicate.

He was a key player in Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI’s scandalous counterintelligence investigation based on the now-discredited Steele Dossier.

According to the DOJ Inspector General, Auten failed to alert FBI leadership about gaping holes and fabrications in the dossier, yet still aggressively pushed for illegal FISA warrants on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

NOTE: This was the FBI spying on a presidential campaign based on false evidence—and Brian Auten was in the thick of it.

But Auten did not stop at attacking Trump. In 2020, just weeks before the election, whistleblowers allege Auten authored an internal FBI report that falsely labeled damning information about Hunter Biden as “Russian disinformation.”

That report effectively shut down the FBI’s investigation into the Biden family’s foreign business dealings—conveniently just in time to protect Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.

Stay tuned: Auten has not yet received his share of “Ultimate Accountability.”

3. The Crime Syndicate Has Unleashed a New Campaign Against President Trump

Members of the crime syndicate are desperate to try to hurt President Trump to stop his agenda. And to do so they have unleashed a new verbal campaign that consists of just one word against him.

They are all using the same word, hoping it will have some effect on his popularity: CHAOS.

Losers, every one of them.

4. New GOP Bill Aims to Restrict Chain Migration and Support Trump Immigration Agenda

We the People have seen the real-world consequences of wrongheaded open-border policies playing out in communities across America.

Schools in “border states” throughout America report overcrowded classrooms, hospitals face mounting unpaid care costs, and public services strain under increased demand. The ripple effect is felt by everyday Americans who see their tax dollars increasingly diverted to accommodate the growing influx.

Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) have introduced the Nuclear Family Priority Act. This legislation is designed to fundamentally restructure how chain migration operates in America. The bill takes aim at a system that has allowed unlimited extended family members to gain entry through a single immigrant.

The Nuclear Family Priority Act would eliminate visa eligibility for extended family members, limiting sponsorship to immediate nuclear family only. The legislation also reduces baseline caps on family-sponsored visas and addresses special cases involving immigrants with parents already in the United States.

The bill represents a critical component of President Trump’s broader immigration reform agenda. Indeed, it aims to secure the border and create a more sustainable, merit-based system that benefits American citizens.

This legislation builds upon previous Republican efforts to restore order to the immigration system. In January, Sen. Banks introduced the End Unaccountable Amnesty Act. This would restore congressional oversight over immigration policies and tighten requirements for Temporary Protected Status, immigration parole, and handling of unaccompanied alien children.

For Rep. Crane, the legislation addresses fundamental flaws in the current system that have allowed widespread abuse.

The Nuclear Family Priority Act represents a return to constitutional principles regarding immigration. It reasserts that Congress—not the executive branch—should determine who may enter the country and under what conditions.

5. President Trump Authorized U.S. Military to Take Control of Land on Southern Border

The president issued a memorandum to the secretaries of Defense, Interior, Agriculture, and Homeland Security late Friday titled “Military Mission for Sealing the Southern Border of the United States and Repelling Invasions.”

The order directs the secretaries to facilitate the transfer of jurisdiction over federal land along the border so military activity along the border can “occur on a military installation under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense.” The lands are to be designated as “National Defense Areas.”

The order names the Roosevelt Reservation, a strip of land along the U.S. border with Mexico in California, Arizona, and New Mexico, as one of the federal lands slated for military control. The Roosevelt Reservation is an easement roughly 60 feet wide.

The consequences of DOD taking control of federal land at the border are not immediately clear, but it could result in more severe criminal charges for migrants who cross the border unlawfully. They could be subjected to charges beyond “entry without inspection,” a federal misdemeanor.

In the memorandum, Trump doubled down on the administration’s assertion that there is an “invasion” at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The president’s memorandum stated:

The southern border is under attack from a variety of threats.

The complexity of the current situation requires our military take a more direct role in securing our southern border than in the recent past.

6. Even Deep Blue NYC Forced to Face Reality on Sanctuary Madness

For over a decade, New York City has wrapped itself in its sanctuary city status like a security blanket, deliberately tripping up federal immigration enforcement at every turn.

In a move that sent shockwaves through the city’s progressive elite, Mayor Eric Adams’ administration recently signed off on an executive order which gives ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) division the stated mission of working with city law enforcement on tackling criminal activity.

Mayor Adams stated:

We cannot collaborate with ICE on civil enforcement, but we can for criminal enforcement. That is what we are doing. That’s in complete conformity with the law.

Right, “so it’s not about deporting random illegal immigrants,” Adams assures everyone. “It’s about hitting the bad guys—the really bad guys.”

This is about public safety and protecting all New Yorkers.

The decision even received a nod from border czar Tom Homan, who called it a “great first step” and linked it to President Trump’s commitment to making NYC safer.

And right on cue, activist groups like the Legal Aid Society began lining up to file their own lawsuits.
