No doubt there will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth in elite circles in the United Kingdom.
Because the UK Supreme Court has ruled—against all expectations—that modern courts rarely get it right and sex is binary.
This from hotair.com.
The case has been 7 years in the making, which in itself is absurd. Even more bizarrely, this commonsense decision was necessary to protect a DEI-based law that would require gender balancing in Scotland, meaning this commonsensical decision was necessary to define just who sits where in the intersectional spectrum.
In other words, answering the question “What is a woman?” was necessary because of a spat over the spoils of progressive redistributionism.
Still, churlishness will be a difficult emotion to conjure up. This was the absolutely correct decision, totally necessary, “and will protect women and girls from predatory, mentally ill, or fetishistic men.”
We are delighted that the UK Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that sex and sexual orientation in the Equality Act are biological and not a matter of paperwork! A huge win, and we are so grateful to @ForWomenScot for fighting so many years to get here ❤️ pic.twitter.com/uHqRAZPAHt

Richard Dawkins and J.K. Rowling have both celebrated the victory, of course, although Dawkins’ comment was misspent by praising science and scientists. Scientists were often the villain in this saga, not the heroes who bravely stood up for Team Reality.
Richard Dawkins has praised the ruling, saying the law has finally caught up with the science.
‘Supreme Court rules that a woman is legally defined as … a woman,’ the evolutionary biologist said.
‘Congratulations. And ‘The concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man.’ Yes, the science was settled in the Precambrian [era]. Nice that the law has finally caught up.’
The law, in this case, did not require hundreds of millions of years to catch up to the obvious reality of sexual dimorphism. The alphabet ideology made an attempt to overturn hundreds of thousands of years of human understanding regarding sex. Sadly,
…a lot of scientists played along with the con and repeated the unscientific nonsense that was required of them to be socially accepted among the elite.
"Now we have clarity over what a 'woman' means in law. Trans [males] never had a right to access women-only spaces. That was an overreach on their part."

No, this was not a victory for science, rather common sense. “The Science” was sorely mistaken by trying its damnedest to back up the ideology.
Even Dawkins, for nearly a decade, avoided discussing trans idiocy because he feared being canceled.
It was Rowling and the fine women at For Women Scotland, not The Science, who fought hard against this dangerous nonsense.
It is to the shame of science and scientists that they jumped on the alphabet ideology bandwagon, cheered from the sidelines, or at best remained silent as activists invaded women’s spaces.
Of all the worst offenders in this decade of farce,
scientists have been among the worst offenders.
It is their JOB–their very reason for being and getting public support–to seek out and promote basic truths, and they failed almost to a man and woman.
They joined in: the biologists devised ways to harm children permanently, in service of these vile lies doctors sterilized and mutilated children, and women were subjected to abuse and sexual exploitation while the vast majority of scientists joined the intellectual parade or cowered in fear of being criticized.
You bastards caused this farce to live much longer than it should have.
Dawkins’ quip not only has a sad ring to it, but it is entirely wrong. The ordinary Briton was more grounded in reality than the average scientist on this one.
“It absolutely kills the idea that a man, any man, can go online, buy himself a gender recognition certificate for £5 and then claim to be a woman.”

Is the world healing on this issue? Likely so, at least in Europe. In the United States, it is unclear. Blue states are pushing forward aggressively, while Red states are pushing back ever so much harder. The federal government is, at least temporarily, on Team Reality.
