Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

1. Trump Follows Through on Promises to End the Obiden ‘War on Coal,’ Boost American Energy

President Trump slashed regulations to allow the coal industry to surge and to lower the price of energy, which was squeezing Americans’ already strained budgets.

His goal is to end completely The Regime’s “war on coal” which sought to advance the insane globalist “climate change” agenda.

Trump’s new orders have now established that over 70 coal power plants are no longer required to meet extreme air quality regulations created by The Regime.

A statement from the EPA explained the new order would:

[B]olster coal-fired electricity generation, ensuring that our nation’s grid is reliable, that electricity is affordable for the American people, and that EPA is helping to promote our nation’s energy security.

For many states, Trump’s cessation of hostilities against the coal industry is a much-needed relief. The coal industry provides thousands of stable and well-paying jobs to average Americans.

Lowering the cost of energy will have a domino effect on the economy, spurring economic growth as Americans have more discretionary spending power.

2. Trump Gives SAVAGE Response When Asked if He Still Has Confidence in Pete Hegseth After Latest Accusation of Another Signal Chat Leak

President Trump said to a reporter at the Easter Egg Roll.

It’s just fake news. You know, he was put there to get rid of a lot of bad people, and that’s what he’s doing. You don’t always have friends when you do that.

Further:

He is doing a great job … Ask the Houthis how he’s doing.

The three Hegseth aides placed on leave amid a probe into leaks have been officially fired.

Most recently The Wall Street Journal reported:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth created a Signal chat with his wife, his personal lawyer and others, and posted sensitive military information into it, people familiar with the matter said Sunday, a revelation that has added to the increasing scrutiny of the novice leader.

Hegseth went off on the fake news media after the latest leak:

What a big surprise a few leakers get fired and suddenly a bunch of hit pieces come out from the same media that peddled the Russia hoax, won’t give back their Pulitzers, they got Pulitzers for a bunch of lies.

Further:

This is what the media does. They take anonymous sources from disgruntled former employees and then they try to slash and burn people and ruin their reputations.

And Hegseth added that he and Trump were “on the same page all the way.”

3. Trump Exposed Disastrous Obiden Green Program Based on “Bad Science”

President Trump’s Department of the Interior has halted the massive $5 billion Empire Wind Project being developed off the coasts of NY and NJ. Why? A damning review by NOAA found The Regime rushed approval without proper scientific analysis, potentially causing severe environmental damage.

The project was to construct 147 ocean wind turbines under a contract with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum announced the project would remain paused pending “further review.”

The environmental impact of this supposedly “green” project would have been staggering. Approximately 139 acres of seabed would have been permanently altered by wind turbine generators and equipment. An additional 1,554 acres would have been disrupted by submarine cables connecting the turbines to land.

Perhaps most telling is what The Regime chose to ignore:

The project failed to account for catastrophic turbine blade failures that occurred earlier this year at another [Obiden] wind farm off the coast of Massachusetts.

Further:

They also overlooked persistent fish kills associated with the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project. So much for protecting marine life!

The NOAA study revealed:

[C]ritical areas that support commercial and recreational fisheries were not excluded from leasing, and proposals that emphasized maximum development scenarios further restricted opportunities to reduce impacts on fisheries and important habitats.

NOTE: The Regime was willing to sacrifice actual environmental health for the appearance of being environmentally conscious.

4. Trump Administration’s Iran Talks Show Progress; Iran’s Concerning Capabilities Hint of Obama Treason

When Obama orchestrated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015, he claimed it would prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Instead, it provided economic relief while allowing Iran to continue perfecting their uranium enrichment technology behind the scenes.

Then The Obiden Regime’s attempts to resurrect the deal only emboldened Iran further. Hence, the Iran of 2025 is not the Iran of 2015:

– Today’s Islamic Republic has perfected advanced centrifuges capable of enriching uranium from zero to weapons-grade in mere weeks, not months or years,

– They’ve accumulated enough near-weapons-grade enriched uranium to produce five nuclear weapons if further enriched, and

– [P]erhaps most alarmingly, they now possess ballistic missiles capable of delivering these weapons to targets throughout the Middle East, including Israel and U.S. military installations.

Can anyone seriously argue the Obama-Obiden approach made us safer?

Against this sobering backdrop comes word that the U.S. and Iran have agreed to meet for a third round of nuclear talks later this week in Muscat, Oman. This announcement follows four hours of negotiations in Rome on Saturday between American and Iranian delegations, with Omani officials serving as intermediaries. Details remain scarce, but both sides expressed cautious optimism about the direction of the discussions.

What is refreshing is to finally see an administration that understands the fundamentals of negotiation. The Trump approach will, no doubt, “maintain maximum economic pressure through sanctions,” with a “willingness to explore diplomatic solutions without rushing into a flawed agreement.”

Asked recently about potential military strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, the chess master Trump stated:

I’m not in a rush to do it because I think Iran has a chance to have a great country and to live happily without death.

NOTE: President Trump WILL NOT sacrifice substance for the appearance of diplomatic achievement. He will put American security above international approval ratings.

5. Trump Met with Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes Execs at White House to Discuss Tariffs

President Trump hosted executives from some of the largest U.S. retailers at the White House on Friday, discussing how his tariff plans could affect their businesses.

The president has paused reciprocal tariffs on many countries, while increasing tariffs on China. Walmart, CNBC noted, “is in a better position than many of its competitors” because approximately two-thirds of what the company sells in the U.S. is made, grown or assembled in America. The final third is imported from across the globe, with China and Mexico being the “most significant” supplier countries.

Per CNBC, Target chief executive Brian Cornell and Walmart CEO Doug McMillon were in attendance as well as executives from Lowe’s and Home Depot.

A Walmart spokesperson said:

We had a productive meeting with President Trump and his team and appreciated the opportunity to share our insights.

A similar statement from Target read:

We had a productive meeting with President Trump and our retail peers to discuss the path forward on trade, and we remain committed to delivering value for American consumers.

Home Depot said in a statement:

We had an informative and constructive meeting with the President and look forward to continuing the dialogue.

Per Bloomberg:

Walmart has said it is working to keep prices low in response to tariffs. Target has not revealed how much of its items are sourced from overseas, but has said price increases would vary by item category. Home Depot has said over half of its products are sourced in North America.
