The Left appears more concerned with the comfort of jailed international criminals than with protecting U.S. citizens.
Rather than focusing on families struggling to make ends meet or seniors watching their savings shrink, these lawmakers are lobbying to fly overseas—on our tax dollars—to check on the “well-being” of alleged gang members in their own country’s prison.

Not surprisingly, Reps. Robert Garcia (CA) and Maxwell Frost (FL) requested taxpayer-funding for a trip to El Salvador to visit a mega-prison where one particular inmate caught their attention: Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant with suspected ties to MS-13, a record of alleged domestic violence, and accusations of human trafficking. They had decided this is the man whose comfort deserves Congressional chaperoning.
Enter House Oversight Chairman James Comer, “wielding something [the Left fears] even more than logic: fiscal responsibility.” On April 18, Comer made it crystal clear not a single dollar of a hard-working American would be footing the bill for a gangland excursion.

If Democrats wish to travel to El Salvador and meet with a foreign illegal MS-13 gang member, they can spend their own money… I will not approve a single dime of Oversight Committee taxpayer funds for use on the excursion Democrats have requested.
And this bludgeoning of reality did not stop with Comer. Rep. Mark Green, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, echoed Comer’s remarks, blasting the proposed visit as a disgraceful misuse of public funds. Rep. Jason Smith from the Ways and Means Committee joined the chorus, slamming the Left for pushing to “release more foreign criminals back into our country.”
Meanwhile, Kilmar Abrego Garcia—the man the crime syndicate is treating like a congressional VIP—has a legal history that reads like a cartel résumé. A 2021 restraining order reportedly accused him of beating his wife. Then came a 2022 human trafficking investigation, during which he was pulled over but eventually released by The Regime’s FBI.
Somehow, none of this dissuaded the Left. Even as several GOP leaders refused to dignify the request with much more than mockery, one liberal nut job pressed forward. Senator Chris Van Hollen (C/G-MD) took it upon himself to travel to El Salvador anyway, excited to check in with the “constituent” now imprisoned in the country’s notorious CECOT facility.
We the People have all seen the photos and have heard the tale of “sipping margaritas in tropical paradise.”
At a time when many Americans are struggling with soaring grocery prices, rising crime, and an overwhelmed border, communists/globalists have placed their empathy upon a criminal alien in El Salvador.
And the hypocrisy here is on steroids.
These are the same lawmakers who’ve dismissed Republican border security reforms for years. They have called detention centers inhumane, shouted down oversight hearings, and painted every enforcement effort as cruel. But now? Now they want all-expense-paid tours of foreign prisons to make sure accused gang members are “comfortable.”
No dice, say Republicans. Not on their watch. Not with Americans footing the bill. And certainly not while law-abiding citizens back home see their voices drowned out by identity politics masquerading as compassion.
Final thought: I strongly believe, as I stated before, Kilmar Abrego Garcia is being attended to by the crime syndicate of the Left because he performed dirty work for them and if they cannot see him dead, at a minimum they want him content and his mouth kept shut.
