Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

(NOTE: Relax! We the People may not have even thought of some of this stuff, but the Trump-Vance ‘A’ team is already on top of it.)

1. Trump Considering Taking Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Public

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said he will speak with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Federal Housing Finance Director William Pulte.

Trump said, without providing further details:

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are doing very well, throwing off a lot of CASH, and the time would seem to be right.

Fannie and Freddie, which operate as for-profit corporations with private shareholders, were created by the U.S. Congress to expand the national home lending market by buying home loans from private lenders and repackaging them as mortgage-backed securities.

When the housing market collapsed in 2008, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac suffered overwhelming losses. To avoid catastrophic effects for the U.S. economy, they were placed in conservatorship under the newly created Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Previous attempts to rid government control of the organizations, including under Trump’s first term in office, have been unsuccessful.

In February, Bessent said the release of Fannie and Freddie from their conservatorship would depend on mortgage rate implications.

2. FAFO: Trump Admin Terminates Harvard’s Student Visa Program for ‘Pro-Terrorist Conduct’

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem offered Harvard 72 hours to provide the information requested for an opportunity to regain its visa program for the next school year.

The secretary stated:

Consequences must follow to send a clear signal to Harvard and all universities that want to enjoy the privilege of enrolling foreign students.

[T]he Trump administration will enforce the law and root out the evils of antisemitism in society and on campuses.

The move is a severe consequence of Harvard’s refusal to comply with the Trump administration’s request for the behavioral records of foreign students.

Noem stated:

This administration is holding Harvard accountable for fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus.

Further:

It is a privilege, not a right, for universities to enroll foreign students and benefit from their higher tuition payments to help pad their multibillion-dollar endowments.

And:

Harvard had plenty of opportunity to do the right thing. It refused.

Harvard may no longer enroll foreign students in the 2025-2026 school year.

Any existing foreign students must transfer to a different school or lose their legal status to reside in the U.S. before the next academic year begins.

NOTE: Deterrence is a beautiful tool. Without it we would have chaos.

3. RFK Jr’s New MAHA Report Raises Serious Concerns for Children’s Health

Foods with added chemicals and an increase in the prescribing of pharmaceuticals to young kids are being targeted.

The report asserts:

After a century of costly and ineffective approaches, the federal government will lead a coordinated transformation of our food, health, and scientific systems.

The report’s key findings include:

– American children are highly medicated—and it’s not working—prescribing medication to children has skyrocketed in recent history, [for example] a 250% increase in ADHD prescriptions between 2006 and 2016,

– Teenage depression nearly doubled from 2009 to 2019,

– More than one in five children over the age of 6 is now considered obese,

– One in 31 children is being diagnosed with autism by age 8,

– Childhood cancer has spiked by 40% since 1975,

 – Over 40% of the roughly 73 million children (aged 0-17) in the United States have at least one chronic health condition such as asthma, allergies, obesity, autoimmune diseases, or behavioral disorders, and

 – Roughly 75% of America’s youth aged 17–24 do not qualify to serve in the military due to obesity, asthma, allergies, autoimmune diseases, or behavioral disorders.

Kennedy and Trump vowed on the campaign trail to “Make America Healthy Again.”

Kennedy added that the “holistic” review of U.S. health as it relates to children includes promoting a strong economy, citing that “weak economies kill people.”

4. Trump Scores Huge Memorial Day Win—Gas Prices Set to Reach Decades Low

According to GasBuddy, there will be a national average of approximately $3.08 per gallon for the holiday, and it might even dip below $3.00 later this summer.

The credit goes squarely to President Trump and his administration’s relentless focus on American energy dominance. They have made lower fuel costs a priority and have put forth deliberate, pro-America policies.

The National Energy Dominance Council headed by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum have the mission to:

– boost fossil fuel production,

– lower costs for Americans, and

– bolster our economic and national security.

Secretary Burgum told oil and gas executives:

I’m going to share two words that I do not think you have heard from a federal official…during the last four years. And those two words are ‘thank you.’

Under The Regime, the narrative was all about climate change as an “existential threat,” leading to a war on American energy. Billions were poured into so-called green projects while every effort was made to tamp down fossil fuel use. And the result? In June 2022, the national average for a gallon of gas surged past an eye-watering $5.00. Those were painful times—a direct consequence of policies which put ideology before the well-being of American families.

President Trump’s approach is, thankfully, a complete sea change.

5. Republican Representative Calls on NIH to Find “Patient Zero” of TDS—Seriously!

Some Republicans in Congress are ready to flick the switch for change away from the rampage of absurdities. Representative Warren Davidson of Ohio wants answers. He has introduced a piece of legislation which is as bold as it is necessary: the Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) Research Act of 2025.

The bill tasks the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with getting to the bottom of this peculiar phenomenon, characterized by those “intense emotional or cognitive reactions” to President Trump we have all seen play out, often in high definition and at full volume.

And this is not simply some symbolic gesture. The bill wants real answers. It directs the NIH to conduct or support research to “advance the understanding” of TDS, even aiming to “identify the initial emergence or earliest documented cases (commonly referred to as ‘patient zero’ or index cases).” Imagine pinpointing where this all began! We the People are overdue a serious look at what fueled years of non-stop, often unhinged, negativity which went far beyond normal political disagreement. As Rep. Davidson put it, the goal is to understand and find solutions.

While the idea of studying “TDS” may bring a smirk to some faces, the underlying issues are deadly serious.  As Rep. Davidson and his co-sponsor, Rep. Barry Moore of Alabama, highlighted, this “epidemic on the Left,” as Moore calls it, has had tangible, dangerous consequences. The Daily Wire article reminds us of the “nationwide political and social unrest” and, most chillingly, “two assassination attempts were made against Trump.” When political fervor crosses into violence and attempts on the President’s life, we must seek understanding, correction, and healing.

This bill, then, is more than just a political statement; it is a necessary step towards understanding and hopefully mitigating a phenomenon that has genuinely harmed the fabric of our nation. This initaitive is another example of Republicans on a mission, determined to restore a measure of sanity and accountability to Washington and beyond.
