House GOP Passes Bill Banning Government Funding for Sex Change Procedures

The America of the 2020s had apparently shed its common sense, but long behold some elected officials in Washington have finally found their spines and are pushing back against the rising tide of woke nonsense.

House Republicans, spurred on by a President who actually wants to put America first, have passed what is being called a “big, beautiful bill” that takes a firm stand on several fronts, particularly when it comes to how our taxpayer dollars are spent.

This from thepatriotjournal.com.

One of the most significant moves in this legislation is a long-overdue measure to halt all federal funding for so-called “gender transition” procedures—and not just for kids, but for adults too. That’s right, programs like Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program will no longer be footing the bill for what many see as life-altering and often dangerous medical interventions.

The charge was led by Representative Dan Crenshaw, a Texas Republican who is not known for staunch conservatism. He successfully expanded an initial provision, and his take on these procedures is refreshingly blunt.

From The Daily Wire:

Gender transition procedures are the lobotomy of our generation. So-called ‘gender-affirming care’ isn’t healthcare—it’s fringe science with no proven benefit and massive risks.

Crenshaw added that the amendment becoming law is “long overdue.” This is not just about saving a buck, though the initial estimates suggest defunding these procedures for children alone would save taxpayers around $1.4 billion. It is about drawing a line in the sand against what many conservatives view as medically unnecessary and often harmful practices being pushed by a radical agenda. We are talking about procedures like removing healthy organs or attempting to construct pseudo-genitalia, all on the taxpayer dime. No more.

And stopping the taxpayer-funded mutilation is not the only win in this “big, beautiful bill.” The Republicans in the House managed to pack a few more punches for common sense and fiscal responsibility. This legislation is also set to defund the abortion giant Planned Parenthood, a move that pro-life conservatives have been fighting for tirelessly.

Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, celebrated the bill’s passage, having stated:

The One, Big, Beautiful Bill that passed the House will end taxpayer funding for gender transition surgeries, defund Planned Parenthood, and increase the Child Tax Credit—all are monumental wins for our great nation.

Further:

Now it is time for the Senate to get this bill across the finish line so we can Make Families Great Again.

This is a sentiment a lot of us can get behind.

But wait, there’s more! The bill also includes provisions for reimbursing border states, like Texas, that have been crushed under the weight of failed immigration policies from The Regime as well as prior administrations. And, in a nod to basic fairness and responsibility, it adds work requirements for able-bodied adults to be eligible for Medicaid, with sensible exceptions for those who are disabled or pregnant.

It is almost like they are trying to restore some sanity to how the government operates!

This comprehensive approach, backed by President Trump, signals a significant shift. It is a clear message that the days of rubber-stamping every radical whim may be coming to an end.

It is a reminder that when conservative leaders stand firm on principle, they can achieve real victories for the American people and for the values we hold dear.

But the fight is not over. This bill still needs to make its way through the Senate. But this decisive action in the House is a monumental step in the right direction, a sign that the voice of sensible, traditional America is being heard once more.

It’s about fiscal responsibility, protecting the vulnerable from unproven ideologies, and, frankly, getting back to the basics of what made this country great.
