Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

(NOTE: Relax! We the People may not have even thought of some of this stuff, but the Trump-Vance ‘A’ team is already on top of it.)

1. Liberal Reporters Try to Distract from Their Biden Health Cover-Up by Pointing to Trump

The ‘concern’ machine has been fired up again, and this time, its sights are set on President Trump’s health. People like Axios’ Alex Thompson and CNN’s Jake Tapper have suddenly decided President Trump’s health records are fair game and require “investigative reporting.” How… timely.

According to a recent Fox News report:

Thompson lamented that President Trump was ‘completely untransparent during the 2023-2024 campaign’ and ‘has not been transparent since,’ even wildly speculating, ‘He could be on anything. We really have no idea.’ Tapper, not to be outdone, chimed in that while President Trump ‘appears healthy, he has not been transparent about his health records.’ He even grandstanded about the media needing to be more aggressive.

Yes, these names—Thompson and Tapper—should ring a bell. They are the very same two who co-authored Original Sin, a book of after-the-fact lies about not really covering for Joe-Joe’s endless gaffes, his confused wanderings, and his infrequent stage-managed appearances.

The narrative Tapper and Thompson are trying to spin conveniently sidesteps a crucial fact: President Trump has a track record of releasing detailed medical reports and summaries from his physicians throughout his campaigns and his previous term. He has been remarkably open, especially when compared to the cloak of secrecy which surrounded Biden’s true condition. While President Trump has always been an open book, often to the chagrin of his detractors who cannot find anything to truly latch onto, the media now wants to pretend he is some sort of medical enigma.

2. After Trump Pressures European Union, They Agree to $170 Billion Loan Program

For decades, America always picked up the tab when the bill for global security arrived. However, President Trump’s not-so-subtle message has landed with a resounding thud in Brussels!

Our European friends are suddenly scrambling to bolster their own defenses. It seems a little straight talk from Washington has had quite the motivating effect.

European Union (E.U.) members on Tuesday agreed to the urgent outlay of a new 170-billion-dollar (150-billion-euro) loan program to help rearmament and respond to President Trump’s demand the zone begin to rely more on its own resources and less on U.S. taxpayers for funding.

For years, President Trump was clear: America is happy to be an ally, but not a blank check. He told NATO members, in no uncertain terms, they needed to meet their financial commitments. Remember his straightforward declaration? “If They Don’t Pay, I’m Not Going to Defend Them.” Some clutched their pearls, but many hardworking Americans nodded in agreement. It was just common sense.

Now, with President Trump back at the helm, that message is resonating louder than ever. Reuters even noted this new European arms fund was proposed as “fears grew among European leaders that they could not be sure that U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration would defend them from attack.” The prospect of having to actually stand on their own two feet, without leaning quite so heavily on the U.S. military and taxpayers, has focused minds wonderfully.

3. Consumer Confidence Numbers Are In—The Left Is Gnashing Their Teeth

The Left in April was certain the Trump tariffs was a trade equation which would destroy the world. But the latest news—their narrative is falling to pieces.

Not only are we not seeing destruction, the economy is doing well, and now, consumer confidence is soaring.

Analysts had cautiously predicted May’s consumer confidence number to come in at 86, and progressives had their hands on dress hangers in their closets, trembling at the thought of the mad celebration that would ensue should the number have tanked even further.

Instead, it was far more than expected, the biggest jump in four years, according to Bloomberg:

The Conference Board’s gauge of confidence increased by 12.3 points to 98, marking the biggest monthly gain in four years. The figure exceeded all estimates in a Bloomberg survey of economists.

A gauge of consumer expectations for the next six months surged by the most since 2011, while a measure of present conditions climbed as well, data released Tuesday showed. The improvement in confidence was broad across age and income groups as well as political affiliations, with the strongest gains among Republicans.

That consumer confidence measure was after the deal with China but before the tariff movement with the EU, so confidence may be even stronger now, in the wake of that.

That helped to send the DOW up 740 points on Tuesday as well. The S&P 500 rose around 119 points (2 percent), and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 462 points (2.5 percent).

The likelihood of recession is also hitting record lows.

4. Trump Pardoned Virginia Sheriff Jailed by the Obiden ‘Weaponized’ DOJ: ‘Persecuted by Radical Left Monsters’

The Obiden Regime’s weaponized DOJ politically targeted former Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins who was sentenced to 10 years in prison on bribery charges.

In December 2024, Jenkins was convicted on charges he handed out auxiliary deputy positions for money. Jenkins, who was set to report to prison on Tuesday, disputed the accusation and conviction. He asserted the prosecution was motivated by his outspoken conservative views.

Trump wrote:

Sheriff Scott Jenkins, his wife Patricia, and their family have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ.

Further:

In fact, during his trial, when Sheriff Jenkins tried to offer exculpatory evidence to support himself, the Biden Judge, Robert Ballou, refused to allow it, shut him down, and then went on a tirade.

And:

As we have seen, in Federal, City, and State Courts, Radical Left or Liberal Judges allow into evidence what they feel like, not what is mandated under the Constitution and Rules of Evidence.

Jenkins first made national headlines back in 2019 when he promised to deputize thousands of Culpeper residents if the Leftist-controlled Virginia legislature moved forward with strict gun control measures.

Jenkins wrote on Facebook at the time:

Every Sheriff and Commonwealth Attorney in Virginia will see the consequences if our General Assembly passes further unnecessary gun restrictions.

Further:

I plan to properly screen and deputize thousands of our law-abiding citizens to protect their constitutional right to own firearms.

He also later participated in a phone call with other sheriffs discussing potential charges against Hunter Biden. The charges were based on revelations from the laptop showing his drug use and questionable business dealings.

After the trial, Jenkins maintained his innocence and said he was not given the opportunity to give his side of the story.

5. U.S. and Argentina Announce Plan to Create Alternative Global Health System after Withdrawing from the WHO

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his Argentine counterpart, Minister of Health Mario Lugones, signed a joint declaration Tuesday reaffirming each of their country’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) and creating an alternative international health system.

Kennedy and Lugones provided a joint statement:

Withdrawal marks the beginning of a new path—toward building a modern global health cooperation model grounded in scientific integrity, transparency, sovereignty, and accountability.

Kennedy traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to meet with Lugones and Argentine President Javier Milei to discuss key health priorities, including healthcare reform, “MAHA objectives like addressing chronic disease,” and their new global health collaboration. They also reportedly sought to define “a joint work agenda that will strengthen transparency and trust in the health system.”

Lugones stated the declaration:

[E]xpresses a shared vision of the challenges facing the region’s health systems and the measures needed to transform them.
