Border Czar Homan Warned Newsom and Bass Could Face Federal Charges Over Riots

Some people in power, especially on the Left, think they live by a different set of rules.

They act like law and order are merely suggestions, rules for the little people to worry about.

This from thepatriotjournal.com.

We the People never seriously imagined such carless, cavalier politicians would ever face real consequences. But the winds of change may be blowing soon. There are signs some of these defiant Leftist leaders could finally be held to account for their actions. And the day of reckoning may begin in California.

President Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, recently dropped a bombshell. He said that California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could face serious federal charges. Why? For how they handled the shocking riots that exploded after ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) did its job. Homan spoke emphatically about the danger:

From the Daily Caller:

Someone is going to lose their life during clashes between masked protesters and federal agents.

Homan said he has not ruled out asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to prosecute the officials, accusing them of “fomenting the anti‑ICE riots.”

Further:

These weren’t peaceful protests, let me be clear. Mobs in Los Angeles, Compton, and Paramount went wild. They burned cars, threw rocks and fireworks, and even scrawled ‘KILL ICE’ on buildings.

And:

All this happened because ICE agents dared to arrest over 100 illegal immigrants. And these weren’t just ordinary people looking for a better life; some were known gang members and dangerous drug traffickers.

Instead of condemning the violence, what did Governor Newsom do? He practically dared Tom Homan to come after him! Newsom actually said:

Come after me. Arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy.

Newsom even tried to paint a picture of ICE agents snatching “4-year-old girls” and “poor people… just trying to live their lives.”

But Tom Homan set the record straight. He explained ICE agents:

[A]rrested a sexual predator, arrested gang members, arrested somebody that had an armed robbery conviction. So we made LA Safer.

It seems Newsom is more worried about protecting criminals than protecting his own citizens or respecting federal law. Homan said it clearly:

[I]f officials like Newsom and Bass cross the line and obstruct federal law enforcement, they could face felony charges.

Plus, both Newsom and Mayor Bass criticized President Trump’s strong response—sending 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to restore order.  Newsom even threatened to sue the Trump administration, claiming it was all about “authoritarian tendencies” and “ego.”

NOTE: Federal agents are trying to remove dangerous criminals from the streets. Liberal leaders in California are inhibiting their efforts, and they complain when the President steps in to protect citizens and property. This is a clear case of putting politics ahead of safety and the rule of law. Their words and actions only encourage more lawlessness and put our brave ICE agents in even more danger. Yes, their arrests are warranted, however, such actions would certainly create a greater response by their hired thugs.

For too long, sanctuary city policies and soft-on-crime attitudes from communist/globalist crime syndicate leaders have created havens for criminals. The chaos in Los Angeles is a direct result of this. But now, with a President in the White House who believes in law and order, things may be different. Tom Homan’s warnings are serious. Obstructing federal officers is a crime. Inciting riots is a crime.

The question remains: Will Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass finally face the music? Will the Department of Justice take action?
