Liberals can’t think for themselves and lord knows they don’t have any ideas, so it’s weird when they all “spontaneously” come up with the same exact talking (yelling) point, isn’t it? Either they have some kind of collective Borg consciousness or their handlers issue memos instructing them on what it is they should be outraged over. Today it’s over the unfairness of every state having 2 US Senators with a demand to abolish the Electoral College. This is what happens when the system doesn’t produce the results they like. When things don’t go their way, they want to burn everything to the ground, which isn’t the most rational way to react to mild disappointment.
When Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but lost the presidency because of a lopsided Electoral College vote, liberals began demanding an end to the way the United States elects presidents. That kind of died down because the left got distracted by something shiny, but now that their efforts to stop Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination failed, they are back on the destroy the EC trip again.
This liberal complaint is two-fold: First they think that smaller states shouldn’t have the same representation as more populous states in the US Senate, mostly because smaller state Senators tend to be Republicans and voted for Kavanaugh. Next they want to get rid of the Electoral College because it elected Trump and he is the one who nominated Kavanaugh. In other words, the left hates America and wants to blow it up because fair rules that apply to everyone didn’t work in their favor.
And here they all are bitching about the same exact thing. Let’s start with Think Progress justice editor Ian Millhiser who thinks the the Constitution needs to go because of the Electoral College and the 2 Senators per state rule:
The Constitution of the United States has failedhttps://t.co/V29TwAVQ1F pic.twitter.com/VHY4Fp6vqe

That led to a mini rant from Think Progress editor Judd Legum:
1. The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh as a Supreme Court Justice is the culmination of two decades in American politics where a distinct minority has seized the lion’s share of political power.
We can fix it. https://t.co/zb0FbgZENh
— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) October 8, 2018
2. Kavanaugh was nominated by a president who lost the popular vote by 3 million votes, opposed by a majority of the Americans and confirmed by Senators representing about 44% of the country.
It doesn’t have to be this way. https://t.co/zb0FbgZENh
— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) October 8, 2018
3. The only reason Kavanaugh is sitting in the Supreme Court today is that millions of taxpayers in DC and Puerto Rico are denied any Congressional representation.
Changing that is achievable and does not require an act of Congress.https://t.co/zb0FbgZENh
— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) October 8, 2018
4. The electoral college is a vestige of slavery designed to give the South enhanced political power even as it continued to enslave African Americans. It has no legitimate role in today’s politics and can be eliminated. https://t.co/zb0FbgZENh

Think Prigress is a whacko leftist rag written by whacko leftists, but here is NBC’s Ken Dilanian demanding change:
It may not happen in our lifetimes, but the idea that North Dakota and New York get the same representation in the Senate has to change. “Senators representing less than half the U.S. are about to confirm a nominee opposed by most Americans” https://t.co/DAZWYT9Txg
— Ken Dilanian (@KenDilanianNBC) October 6, 2018
Am I the only who thinks it’s kind of inappropriate for a journalist at a major network to attack the Constitution and the structure of the US government because he’s butthurt over a SCOTUS nomination?
Next let’s hear from GQ writer Julie Ioffe:
We are a country where two presidents who both lost the popular vote have now placed four justices on the Supreme Court. Democracy in action.
— Julia Ioffe (@juliaioffe) October 5, 2018
To which democratic socialist idiot Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez replied:
It is well past time we eliminate the Electoral College, a shadow of slavery’s power on America today that undermines our nation as a democratic republic. https://t.co/00HZN3MI6F
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) October 6, 2018
Maybe we should turn to Hollywood for some rational opinions on things. Here’s Meathead, who is always reasonable:
The vast majority of our country is progressive. If we had a pure representative Democracy, one person-one vote, the GOP would never be allowed to govern. Until we get rid of gerrymandering, voter suppression & the electoral college we have to swarm the polls. Nov.6 SWARM VOTE!!!
— Rob Reiner (@robreiner) October 7, 2018
Swam people, swarm!
Okay, never mind about Hollywood being the voice of reason. Clearly all liberals got the same memo and would like to see the Electoral College abolished and every state that isn’t New York or California stripped of their Senators.
The funny thing is, just about 10 years ago democrats had the White House, a 60-member filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and control of the House. If the Electoral College was such a threat to democracy, they could have easily gotten rid of that back then. They also could have passed restrictive gun control, given amnesty to illegal aliens, abolished ICE, established an all-you-can eat for free socialist buffet, and everything else they are bitching about now. For some reason they didn’t.
Could it be that liberals are all a bunch of crybabies who throw themselves on the floor, kicking and screaming, anytime something doesn’t go their way?
