It’s not often we get an ables-to-apples comparison involving the behavior of conservatives and liberals, but this was a good week for public confrontations. In separate incidents hecklers gave crap to Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz and Trump-hating liberal kook George Lopez. Both are Hispanic and both were called out in a public space. This is science, people. Try to guess which one handled it with class and which one went ape-shit crazy.
In this first clip we see Ted Cruz walking through an airport as a crazy woman berates him for supporting Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was baselessly accused of sexual misconduct. Cruz calls Kavanaugh’s SCOTUS confirmation a victory for women.

“You think putting a sexual assaulter on the court is a victory for women?” asks the woman angrily.
“I believe in due process,” responds Cruz calmly.
“Do you believe in a man lying about his alcohol in front of the Senate and perjury? Do you believe in perjury?” The woman then asked.
This is possibly the most awkwardly worded question ever, but Cruz was not phased.
“Thank you for expressing your 1st Amendment Rights,” said Cruz.
“So why do you support a man who abuses women? Shame on you Ted Cruz,” yelled the woman.
“God bless you, ma’am,” said Cruz as he walked away.
The woman repeatedly shouted “Shame on you, Ted Cruz!” and that was it. No cussing, no violence, and Cruz didn’t even raise an eyebrow, let alone a hand. In some kind of weird coincidence, as Ted Cruz walked away, he passed in front of a CNBC store.
Now let’s compare that to recent confrontation between a Trump supporter and unfunny comedian George Lopez. Apparently the Trump-supporter had been heckling Lopez in a Hooters restaurant in New Mexico with pro-Trump slogans. Eventually Lopez got up and the man, who is wearing an OZZY shirt, began recording.
“Here comes my boy, George,” said the heckler to the camera.
The camera then panned around to show George Lopez quickly approaching. Lopez said something incomprehensible, but the word “bullshit” is recognizable. With that, Lopez tried to grab the man’s phone.
“Look at him, he’s a badass,” said the man mockingly.
Lopez then grabbed the man by the neck and I for one am impressed that this heckler was able to keep on filming while being assaulted.
“Look at him. He wants to fight me. Hello. George wants to fight me,” said the man.
Lopez can be seen grabbing and pulling at the man and then the video cuts out. According to TMZ, the man had been yelling “MAGA” at Lopez and he just snapped. There were no reported injuries in this assault and the police were not called.
So there you have it. Heckle a conservative and get blessed by God. Heckle a liberal and get attacked. It’s not like the results of this scientific experiment are shocking, liberals are some seriously hateful violent people, but it is kind of cool to have a document of the difference between the left and right.
