Currently the liberal media is outraged over the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, apparently at the hands of the Saudis. This outrage is mostly because they have moved on from saying President Trump is Putin’s puppet to saying he is in the pocket of the Saudi royal family. Another journalist was murdered this week but for some reason the liberal media isn’t quite as outraged or even interested. In this second case, the journalist was beaten to death by a black man because he is white. Oh, I think I just figured why the liberal media is taking this one off.
Jerry Wolkowitz was an independent photojournalist and an EMT in New Jersey. On May 1 of this year he was out from a walk in front of his apartment in Asbury Park, NJ when 26-year-old Jamil S. Hubbard attacked him without provocation. Hubbard brutally beat Wolkowitz and then dragged him into the parking lot. Husband then stole Wolkowitz car and ran over the journalist with his own vehicle.
Hubbard was arrested at his home, when police found Wolkowitz’s car out front. The motive for the crime however was not car theft. Hubbard, who is black, told police he targeted Wolkowitz, “because he was a white man.” Hubbard also told police investigators that he wanted to kill Wolkowitz simply because he was white.
While this attack took place last May, APP reports that Wolfowitz just passed away form his injuries. After the attack, Wolkowitz was hospitalized in a vegetative state. He finally succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. He was 56.
Hubbard was originally charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, armed robbery, eluding, theft and bias intimidation. With Wolkowitz’s death, presumably prosecutors will remove that “attempted” from his murder charge.
The original attack was almost 6 months ago and nobody ever heard about this racially-motivated attack. Now that Wolkowitz has died for being white, it’s barely making a blip in the news. Had this journalist been black and beaten to death by a white man, you bet your ass it would be big news, but it simply doesn’t fit the liberal narrative that there is a wave of Trump-related hate against minorities.
Just this week the national news has been going mental over a couple of incidents in which white women called the police on black people who weren’t doing anything particularly illegal. Why is that such big news but a white man being murdered by a black man because of the color of skin is ignored? Isn’t cold-blooded racially-motivated murder a little more racist than a white woman being suspicious of a black man?
The other thing that has left the liberal media breathless this week is the killing of a journalist at the Saudi Arabia embassy in Turkey. Hey, a journalist was also killed in New Jersey. If only President Trump had some kind of connection to Jamil S. Hubbard, maybe the fake news industry would at least pretend they cared about Jerry Wolkowitz being brutally beaten to death.
