Since losing the presidency to the GOP, democrats have been promising a “Blue Wave” in the 2018 midterm elections that the say will give them control of both chambers of Congress. All indications are that they will actually loses seats in the Senate, but they have held out hope they could still flip the House. Now it looks like that won’t be a thing either. Early voting is underway and there are a hell of a lot more Republicans voting than democrats. Generally speaking, early voting is usually dominated by democrats, but not this time.
This is from NBC, so you know it’s time for democrats to hit the panic button:
Republican-affiliated voters have outpaced Democratic-affiliated voters in early voting in seven closely watched states…
GOP-affiliated voters have surpassed Democratic-affiliated ones in early voting in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Montana, Tennessee and Texas…
Only in Nevada have Democratic-affiliated voters exceeded Republican-affiliated voters so far in early voting, according to the data.
The latest data suggests robust enthusiasm among early Republican voters that could put a dent in Democratic hopes for a “blue wave” in next month’s midterm elections.
More bad news for the democrats is that the majority of the early voters are women. Democrats had planned on women voters casting their ballots for the donkeys, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
When the Democratic Party’s official propaganda arm says things are looking grim, that’s bad, but when the actual party itself is walking back the “blue wave” boast you know it’s over. Here’s DNC head Tom Perez saying they probably won’t be taking over control of Congress:
.@TomPerez: “We always knew that this election was going to be close. I don’t use the term #BlueWave.” https://t.co/1VqIgrDpAR pic.twitter.com/kYF2YwFhpw

Where did it all go wrong for the democrats? Was it the high taxes? The socialism? Abolishing ICE? Gun control? The violent mob action? Or maybe it was just the general craziness from the left. Who knows? It would take some kind of political science expert to figure out why the American people don’t respond to a high-tax/low-freedom/communist agenda.
How things have worked in the recent past is that the the political party of the sitting president usually loses Congressional seats in the midterm elections. Republicans lost control of Congress under Bush Jr. and democrats lost both chambers under Obama. Democrats were really counting on the same thing happening under Trump, but they have pitched such a spastic fit over his presidency that America is unwilling to hand over the keys to a political party that is clearly drunk.
