This week someone sent a bunch of fake bombs to prominent democrats like Hillary, Obama, and Biden. There was a lot of speculation that this was a left-wing plot to frame Trump and his supporters as violent lunatics. Authorities in Florida have captured a suspect and surprisingly it looks like this bomb hoaxer actually is a Trump supporter, the key word being “looks.” I’m still not convinced this suspect is a real deal Republican simply because he looks like he’s trying way to hard to appear as a right-wing fanatic.
Fox News reports:
A male suspect was arrested in Florida on Friday morning in connection with the rash of suspicious packages sent to prominent Democrats nationwide, law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox News.
Multiple sources identified the suspect to Fox News as Cesar Sayoc of Aventura, Florida.
A separate law enforcement source told Fox News that the suspect is a white male in his 50s, who used to live in New York and had prior arrests for terroristic threats.
That’s not a lot to go on in terms of who this guy is but NBC had some additional information concerning Sayoc:
Sayoc’s white van, which had pictures of Trump and the presidential seal plastered to the windows, was seized by the officials and hauled off to a secure facility.
The suspect is a registered Republican, according to records.
I’ll get to the van in a second, but the idea that Sayoc is a registered Republican seems far-fetched considering he’s a violent possibly convicted felon. If he’s illegally registered to vote and does in fact vote, chances are he’s a democrat.
NBC 5 has some more information on Sayoc’s legal history:
Three officials identified the suspect as Cesar Sayoc Jr., originally from Brooklyn and currently of Florida. Public records show he has an extensive record of arrests for battery, theft, moving violations, and steroid-related charges.
I guess it’s possible that Sayoc was never convicted of these things, but they have a mug shot of him in a prison jumpsuit so I think it’s likely he is a convicted felon and cannot vote or be registered as a Republican.
As for the van, there’s a few more details:
Authorities towed away a large white van from a location in Plantation, Florida, on Friday morning, as part of the investigation. The windows of that van were festooned with pictures of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, as well as numerous pro-Trump and anti-Democrat and anti-media images, some with crosshairs targets.
At first glance Sayoc’s van seems to give him away as a rabid Trump supporter, but that may be by design. Doesn’t it feel like he’s trying a little too hard to draw attention to himself? A van “festooned” with pro-Trump anti-liberal propaganda screams that this guy wants people to not only believe he’s a right-wing extremist, but notice it too. I still won’t be surprise if Sayoc turns out to be a leftist kook.
I don’t know if Sayoc is a Trump supporter or a liberal operative, but he’s definitely both a scumbag and a dumbass, which is actually another good argument for him being a leftist. You can however count on the liberal media to play up his Trump-supporter credentials until the truth comes out at which point they will drop the story.
