A conservative guest on Fox News made the astute observation that Hillary Clinton is like herpes and all hell broke loose. The host apologized, the network apologized, and the guest apologized. Why? Hillary Clinton is like herpes. Since when do we have to apologize for telling the truth? It’s not like like CNN or MSNBC ever apologize when their guests call President Trump all sorts of vile names based on liberal fantasies, so why should Fox say sorry for telling it like it is?
Anna Paulina is Turning Points USA’s Director of Spanish Engagement. Recently she was on Fox News and the segment was doomed to fail from the beginning. Seeing as how Paulina is TPUSA’s director of Spanish engagement, she was under the impression she was there to talk about immigration and border security. Unfortunately the Fox segment was about Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, which Paulina didn’t know because she was doing the interview remotely.
“I’d have to say, with everything that happened with President Trump and the border, you know the Dick Act of 1903 established the ability of the president to federalize the National Guard and basically call forth the National Guard in times of crisis…”started Paulina.
Host Rick Leventhal interrupted, saying that the topic of discussion was Hillary’s emails and pivoted to another guest. After a while, Paulina chimed in with the only interesting thing on the segment:
“She won’t go away. She’s like herpes,” Paulina said of Hillary.
Leventhal was shocked and said, “Okay, that is news that we are breaking here. Not appropriate.”
Technically that is not breaking news as everyone already knows Hillary is like herpes.
With that, Paulina disappeared from the show and Leventhal started the apology train:
“We are going to wrap this segment a little bit early because of the language that was used in the segment, and we apologize to our viewers for that,” said Leventhal.
Later, Fox News anchor Arthel Neville kept that train chugging down the tracks:
“We want to reiterate that we do not condone the language that Anna Paulina just displayed here, and we apologize to Secretary Clinton for that. Fox News does not condone her sentiment,” said Neville.
And even Paulina issued an apology from the caboose:
Yesterday on Fox I was placed on the wrong segment & in the confusion made a brash and unprofessional joke. To Fox and those watching, I am deeply sorry.
My feeling simply is that Big Government creates dynasties like the Clintons that won’t go away & Americans are over it.

The only possible reason why any of these people would owe Hillary an apology is if she had nothing in common with herpes. Let’s see what Wikipedia has to say about the disease:
Herpes simplex is a viral disease…It may result in small blisters in groups often called cold sores or fever blisters…Herpes cycles between periods of active disease followed by periods without symptoms…There is no available vaccine and once infected, there is no cure.
Gosh, that sure sounds like it was ripped from Hillary’s Linkedin page, doesn’t it? She is an open sore that keeps popping up at the worst possible moment and no matter how bad she is, there is no way to get rid of her. The only real difference is that there are medications that can offer temporary relief from herpes.
Paulina didn’t say “Hillary is herpes” just that she’s “like” herpes and that’s a reasonable analogy. Another accurate statement would be that Bill Clinton is like a yeast infection because he gets in women’s vaginas against their will. There’s no need to apologize for drawing appropriate parallels.
