On Sunday the migrant caravan tried to storm the gates of the US and pelted Border Patrol agents with rocks. In what can best be described as a reasonable response, Border Patrol repelled these invaders with pepper spray and tear gas. Because Donald Trump is president and is responsible for border security the left completely lost its mind again, accusing him of committing war crimes and atrocities against these poor migrants yearning for a better life. Making this as liberal of a thing as can be, Obama did the exact same thing to an invading migrant horde 5 years ago.
When news hit that Border Patrol agents use non-lethal methods to turn back hundreds of Central American migrants trying to breach our border, Hawaii Senator Brian Schatz got on Twitter and accused Trump of war crimes:
“Why tear gas? Is this consistent with the Conventions on Chemical Weapons?” Schatz asked.
Schatz almost immediately deleted this tweet after admitting he didn’t know enough to comment on it, which is another really liberal thing to do, but it didn’t stop him from making a similar claim:

Muslim agitator Qasim Rashid doubled down on the liberal lie that non-lethal tear gas is the same thing as deadly nerve agents like Sarin gas:

And the thing is, back in 2013 there was another migrant horde that tried to smash their way in. Then-president Barack Obama dealt with it the same way President Trump did. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports:
A group of about 100 people trying to illegally cross the border Sunday near the San Ysidro port of entry threw rocks and bottles at U.S. Border Patrol agents, who responded by using pepper spray and other means to force the crowd back into Mexico, federal officials said.
I don’t recall Brian Schatz accusing Obama of war crimes for using “chemical weapons” on civilians. I don’t remember Barbara Lee screaming that Obama was committing atrocities on women and children. I know for a fact that Alyssa Milano wasn’t crying and cussing about this when Obama was doing it.
