PATHETIC: The Clintons Turn To Groupon To Sell Tickets For Speaking Tour

Before the Clintons embarked on what had all of the appearances of a warm-up tour for yet another White House run by sore loser Hillary it may have seemed like a grand idea to get some media time as well as to feather their nests with exorbitant ticket prices.

Billed as “An Evening With The Clintons” the curtain went up in Toronto for the first stop of the 13-city series of events and it was immediately apparent that the narcissistic duo of Bill and Hillary had vastly overestimated their appeal and ability to get enough suckers to pony up the big bucks to fill sports arenas.

The disastrous evening at Scotiabank Arena where the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs play their home games was made worse when New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd rubbed salt into the wounds with a column that set off a cacophony of condemnation from the Hillary dead-enders who prowl Twitter in packs and exact a terrible vengeance against any who dare speak ill of one who they still believe will be the nation’s first female president.

From Dowd’s epic “Curtains For The Clintons”:

I’m looking around Scotiabank Arena, the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it’s a depressing sight. It’s two-for-the-price-of-one in half the arena. The hockey rink is half curtained off, but even with that, organizers are scrambling at the last minute to cordon off more sections behind thick black curtains, they say due to a lack of sales. I paid $177 weeks in advance. (I passed on the pricey meet-and-greet option.) On the day of the event, some unsold tickets are slashed to single digits.

The former First Couple managed to fill a measly 3,000 or so seats in the 19,800 seat venue.

Granted that it was in Canada but the bad press sent Team Clinton into panic mode and they were quick to take advantage of former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral to postpone their Texas stop and come up with a plan to put fannies into the seats when it resumed.

Calling Groupon!

Via The Daily Mail, “Desperate measures! Bill and Hillary Clinton resort to using Groupon to sell half-price tickets after their 13-stop paid speaking tour fails to draw the crowds”:

Bill and Hillary Clinton have been forced to resort to selling half price tickets for their 13-city tour on Groupon in a desperate bid to put bums on seats.

The former president and first lady launched their tour in a Canadian hockey arena last Tuesday to an underwhelming crowd and swaths of empty seats.

Ticket prices were plummeting shortly before the event, with the cheapest seats selling on Stubhub for single-digits – $6.55 Canadian Dollars, or less than $5.

Now the couple are taking drastic action to avoid another embarrassment on the next stop on their An Evening With the Clintons tour.

They have slashed tickets by up to 60 per cent, and even offered them on Groupon, to try and entice more fans to come and listen to them speak.

On the official site, there were still seats for the tour available for up to $325, with other floor seats going for $83 plus a hefty service charge, but on Groupon, they can be picked up for as little as $35.

The tour is currently on a break for the holidays and reconvenes in New York on April 11, 2019, before moving on to nine other cities including DC, Boston, LA and Las Vegas.

For their May 19 show at The Forum in Inglewood, California, – which seats more than 17,000 – tickets usually priced at $77 are now going for $35, with $120 tickets discounted to $50, and $175 seats down to $72.

Despite the site telling customers that ‘tickets are selling fast!’ with ‘limited time remaining,’ it appears that less than 450 discounted tickets have actually been sold.

Could it be that the Clinton era may finally be nearing an end and that the dismal ticket sales (and indignity of resorting to Groupon) are a signal of the political extinction of these two dinosaurs?
We can only hope.
